can we do an exhaust cut out

I was wondering if you could put a exhaust cut out (routing it out by the front of the rear tire) after the cat/x pipe but before the muffler??

I was wondering if the computer would catch this loss of backpressure and trip a code?

There's some people running cut outs, you shouldnt have any issue with the computer. The real issue is space, there's not much and there will be little ground clearance with them

I remember an Agent 47 mustang in a mag a couple years back with a single exhaust dump before the passenger side rear tire, threw a hole in the lower rear quarter they cut (i.e. not below the body). Looked good, article said they had to perform some minor surgery on the floor board below the back seat. Sure you can find it by searching MM&FF or 5.0 magazine website.

That's what I think! Electric cut outs and a) I don't lose my Bullitt tone with the stock setup and b) I can dial in wide open or partial - whatever I want on fun day. They would be perfect for me.

I posted that before and somebody said 'elec cutouts fail too often' but didn't cite any backup.

They fail because people forget that they need routine cleaning from time to time.
