Need dyno type. It looks like a Dyno Dynamics.... if it is, a Dynojet 224xLC which most are familiar with would read about 30 less.

You're definitely right. Regardless of dyno type, though, it is obvious that Ford has way underrated this engine!

It definitely is, here is there 2010 GT500 test:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yxDS6PLubgY

511, no way.

Their GT500 reads about 45 higher than realistic. Take for what it's worth. I want to see Dynonet and Mustang Dyno #s.

Hard to believe. Typical manual tranny power loss is 15% so 412hp is about 350 RWHP.

Not hard to believe, the #s seem right on for a Dyno Dynamics.

The 15% thing is BS because all dynos rate differently. My car read 441 on an MD-1100 Mustang Dyno, 480 on a Dynojet 224xLC, and 501 on a Dyno Dynamics. All SAE.

Dynos are tuning tools, not verifiers of factory horsepower.

Wow, I had neven seen that. You're right. 511? No way. That definitely makes me question their 5.0L dyno results.

Well they are "accurate" per the dyno type. If that IS a Dynojet, then yeah their Dyno is messed up, even if STD numbers....

The best comparo would be a 2010 and 2011 GT making back to back runs on the same dyno, same day.

Sorry, I posted before reading your last post. I see what you're saying, now. I was unaware that there were so many different figures wrought from such a variety of dynos.

The Dynojet 224xLC is the typical "standard" people use since they are everywhere. Those are the dynos that will read a manual 2009 GT at like 265RW SAE stock.

I'd imagine a solid 375RWHP or so on a Mustang Dyno. I'd have to agree that from what I've normally seen the 224xLC has a lot of 'higher than what you'd expect' - if you will... outputs.

Hence why we're all shocked.

I like the MD-1100 the best. Really puts a load on the car.

Yea for sure, the 1100 series is pretty stout. And the 1750 is also a nice unit from what I've heard. But yea, at the end of the day, not putting a lot of backing on this particular instance, but nice find once again Topnotch!

According to this article it was a Dynojet 248. How does that compare to the Dynojet 224xLC eci?

Cool post

Can't wait to get mine... dyno it after 1500 miles; hoping for something north of 350 on a mustang dyno.

Maybe Ford underrated it to leave room for the Boss? Edmunds' dyno is usually a little on the high side but I'm guessing that's 375 rwhp on a regular Dynojet. I just don't see any chance for a Camaro SS at this point stock on stock. Would it be childish to say in your face at this point?
