E-brake leather boot

I didn't like the baggyness of the boot from Redline, so I made my own. Took a couple of tries to get the right pattern, but I like how it turned out. Here are some pics of the end result. I used vinyl, not leather, but it looks really good.

What do you think?

Cheers

".....but it looks really good." Javier, you're really underestimating yourself. It looks fantastic!!! What a great job. Looks like you might have to get yourself a business licence mister. I bet this'll go over way better than the Redline brake boot. Much cleaner in either the up or down position. Way to go brother

Off topic, where did you get the chrome shifter boot? I like that too!

Thanks for the compliments. I am a teacher here in Alberta, and I am taking my students to Europe in a couple of weeks, so I have no time to make any more. When I come back, I will look into making more for those that are interested, but not right now.

I still have to look into a good way to secure the boot tightly to the console.

Cheers

As for the chrome around my shifter, I used the existing trim piece and had it chromed - it cost me $60 Cdn.

Cheers

Another DIY Boot

Javier, that's really well done!

Here's a link to another DIY PB boot project that takes a different approach. It uses an existing part so you don't have to be a leather worker/seamstress to build this one. The 11th post contains a link to a work plan document with pictures. Since the pictures were taken, I've added a UPR billet handle and a Shelby box cover to further complement the boot.

I have been very pleased with the one I got from redline. Looks very much the same as the one in the pics above and made of top quality leather. Does allow for full range of motion of the handle without binding. I do not see any 'baggyness' in the redline leather cover at all if installed correctly.
