do you think the Saleen short throw block is a good investment. I like the stock shifter and have been thinking of doing this mod.
thanks Dly |

Click on the full link of his thread for a lot more info and feedback:
http://forums.bradbarnett.net/showthread.php?t=49765 I can't speak 100% for Bill, but I do believe he loves the short throws and he thinks it's a great mod for the money.

Bill, I'm sure glad you started this thread. It saves me a lot of time compared to searching forever.

Yes, he's right, for the money (less than $50), it is a pretty decent mod to shorten your shifter throw. Like I mentioned in my thread that Tom referenced, there are better short throw shifters on the market, but at this price, you really can't complain. Installing this Saleen block will introduce some 'notchiness' when shifting into the gates. There's a specific nut that can't be overtightened during installation as it can cause an increase in effort when shifting.

Great job Taco-bill thanks for the help. Now I know I don't want to do the stripes myself.

Well then it should be stickied in 2005-2007 Mustang, Exterior Mods, Interior Mods too. At the very least in "2005-2007 Mustang".

Bill
Curious, when you did your front alignment, what toe setting did you aligner specify for you?

As to whether or not he adjusted the toe, I'm not sure. But, he had me center the steering wheel while he adjusted something underneath.

TacoBill, I just started looking through your How-to list...fantastic!
Quick question? I'm not going to replace my air intake...however, when I do replace the stock air filter I noticed there is a MAF electrical wire connection (has a red clip in the connection)...I would imagine it would be easier to disconnect that first and it should make it easier to change the air filter...right? My question is how do you disconnect the clip? Do you pull outward and up on the red part of the clip? Do you need a screwdriver to help separate it? And when you re-connect does the connection simply snap back in place? I would hate to tug hard on that red/black clip and ruin the connection. Thanks!

I don't think the MAF connector has to be removed in order to change out the air filter element.

Bill, thanks for the quick reply...I haven't tried it yet...but I thought that it might give me more room to replace the air filter...I will try it first without removing it.
(I remember on my '02 Stang that I had to disconnect the MAF connection in order to raise the air intake system enough in order to pull out the cone type air filter...) P.S. Keep up the great work on this section...I have it earmarked as one of my favorites.

Excellent Post Bill! You are the king of documentation!
I have a question for you. Where did you find the suspension schematic pdf files? Are they on-line somewhere? Thanks
