It's a known fact that the 05/06 Mustang Gt's suffer greatly from heat soak. Several magazines have reported losing as much as 30 hp from it. To combat this I want to upgrade the stock radiator to a better/more efficient unit before I do any serious mods to the car (once it gets here, 4 more months to go!!!). I found this one from Be Cool Radiators but no price is given nor can I find any one who sells it. Here's a link to Be Cool's site:

It gives a part number so I guess I can call any one who sells Be Cool products and get a price. Any one else seen any other manufacturers offering high performance radiators for the 05/06 Mustangs??? I consider this a must upgrade for our cars, especially for you guys out there who are or will be running blowers. I plan to do the usual intake and exhaust mods but then take it one step further by adding a set of Livernois ported/polished heads and billet cams.

I didn't know there was a cooling issue or heat soaking issue. I haven't seen my temp gauge get near the halfway mark. BeCool gets good money for their radiators. I had one on my old 85 Jeep and it cost almost $500.

on a dyno after about 6 pulls you will start to notice it, if your moving you will not notice it at all, its in the computer program,, and can be tuned out.

Retailing @ $704, even with cost under $500, I rather spend that elsewhere...

They have it on Jeg's website for $725. It ain't gonna be cheap. Might as well put that money into a turbo or blower.

I have the Be-Cool radiator. Real nice piece. Gonna have to modify it to fit with the blower though.

I imagine a high-speed fan switch (or automatic temp switch) would probably do the trick too - that's what I did on my '96 cobra and those ran HOT with the stock radiator - there was even a TSB to have the rad replaced, but the original owner didn't do it.

Anyway, if and when anyone does this, fill us in on which wire(s) you had to tap into to get the high-speed fan to run on a switch.

I looked at a BeCool for my Jeep too, couldn't justify the cost so I picked up a Griffin from Summit Racing for less than half the price. It's a similar product, works great. Maybe they will make one for the Mustang too.

Anybody heard of "WaterWeter". I remember some racing teams talking about this stuff on a Sunday gearhead show. Its supposed to make the water flow better into all the cracks and crevices and flow easier and faster creating cooler engines and less drag on the pump too. :scratch:

redline water wetter has been around for a long time and does work well in some older applications, but generally seems to have marginal effectiveness in newer vehicles.

Fluidyne is working on one but its not released yet and I dont know what the pricing will be. Should be another 3 to 4 weeks before its available and pricing is set from what Ive been told.
