Saw a post of yours dated about two years ago.
It relates to how you fixed a non retracting outside door handle on an 05 Mustang.
I have the same problem with my car.
I wonder if your fix, with U shaped piece of metal did work ?
And if it worked, just how would I go about finding a strong piece of metal which would do the job ?
I am a former tech, have taken the door handle out of my car today. I am not a fabricator or a machine shop. I am not good at these things...cobbling up something. So if it works, where do I start to find the correct piece of metal...I know it must be strong to hold, and just how it stays in place, I can't imagine.
I did try a nylon tie strap and that slipped off the plastic pieces after a few tries of pulling the handle.

You are also good at drawing...I can't even do that well. LOL
