Saw a post you made back in 2016 about connecting aftermarket and/or Edge head units to a Mustang with Shaker 500. I'm at a point where I'm fed up with my Shaker500 in dash radio and also stumbled upon a Youtube video by Junkyard Junkie where he installed a 2010 steering wheel in an early S197. So I'm starting down that path. My background was a software engineer for 42 years where 38 of those years were at KSC on the Space Shuttle Launch Team. Prior to that I spent 4 years as a Marine Corps A6 Intruder avionics technician with about 14 months of butt in chair formal electronics training.

Ultimate goal is to have a double din lcd radio which is shaker 500 compatable, app capable, with backup camera. Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

This link will take you to the 2011 Mustang shop service manual. It also has the 2005 service manual included. Keep this link and you won't have to buy a service manual for your Mustang. You just have to back up to the "root" and then 2005 and you have that also. The section you need is 89. That is the interior lighting. Good luck.

    Hi Bill,

That info definitely helps! It would be great if you could send me the 2011 wiring diagram. That would definitely help a lot, there isn't much info on this retrofit besides the thread on this forum.

    Thanks!

    Hi,

I'm doing an ambient lighting install on my '05. Do you have any pictures or info on the wiring to the transmission connector from when you did it? I don't want to run a wire to the SBJ. Any help would be awesome!

    Thanks!
