Good sticky summer tires?

Like the title says any recommendations for some good sticky summer tires? Not looking for drag tires. Just something that will provide some good stickyness when i get my blower.

Right now im running 20x10 rear wheels with 285/30/20 tires. Even a change in tire size is welcome.

Was lookin at the Nitto NT05's

(i already have a different set of rims for winter, though i dont think ill be driving this through the winter with a blower on it.)

go with MT street comps, Nitto's suck, and run narrow.

MT Street Comps are easily one of the best tires for our cars. I've heard good things about Michelin Pilot Super Sports as well.

I have a friend who uses the MT's, he says the difference is crazy between them and the factory (crappy) P-Zero's.

The Michelin Pilot Sports are great, or for a bit less money the BFG sport comp-2 is also a good choice (and fantastic in wet weather).

I just put Mickey Thompson's on my car. I can't say they are sticky yet (after 500 miles I can say more), but they do look amazing!

No matter the tire, on a FI car, traction on the street will always be marginal. Heck, with the stock motor traction is marginal at best.

That I can understand, just looking for something to help out a bit more due to the fact I have to replace my rear tires soon anyway.

If you enjoy blasting corners and not just a straight line, I loved the Michelin PSS. For less money and near the same dry and wet grip, the new Bridgestone S-04 Pole Position tires are a very close second IMO.

Not true I can show you local cars that dead hook in 2nd gear on the street and go 9's @ 140+

OP depends what you want to do, M&H race masters on your stock motor blower car will dead hook I bet.

You can spend all you want on a tire, look at doing some suspension and you should be pretty good.

If the car is a true DD the race master isn't the best option, but I love them my N/A car just goes no spinning at all on them.

I had the factory P Zeros and thought they were ok. Upgraded (?) to Michelin PSS and while they are stickier, they sacrifice a ton of ride quality due to the stiffer sidewalls. Road feedback is enough to rattle parts of my dash, and the noise level is about what the P Zeros were with 1/32'' remaining. I think I have around 4/32'' left on the PSS.

I'll be going with BFGoodrich g-Force Sport Comp 2's shortly. Can't beat the price (about $750), and they're the same compound as the outgoing Michelin PS2.

I would.

I ran the first generation Sports on my old car and loved them.

You simply cannot beat $750 shipped for 4 255/40/19s, really.

I'm going to put the Bridgestone's on my car in a couple of months moving from the Pirelli's that came with the car. Going to a 19x9.5 with 275/40 all the way around.

The added traction after the 275 upgrade is great. I just need 9.5 inch wheels now.

Can you run the 275/40/19 on 9" wheels?
If you can that is what I'm going to do with the BFG tires!
I have them on my other car and really like them!

I put a set of Sumitomo HTR ZIII's on my 18" track wheels and ran them for 2 days at a road course a couple weeks ago. With some heat in them, they were quite sticky for a street tire and they held up phenomenally (which is what I was going for... not so much ultimate traction, balance of wear with good grip). I don't launch my car, I only do road courses so primarily 3, 4, & 5th gears only, but per my data logging setup the car was pulling a touch over 1g when I hit a corner right, so no complaints.

For the price, they are hard to beat!

You're going to love them. Got a buddy that just put 265 front and 285 rear S-04's on his 370Z combined with sways, that car does 90mph sustained on cloverleafs. Insane grip and they ride VERY well with crisp turn-in and progressive break-away.

Yup, sure can... however you'll want to run 275-35-19 instead to keep the overall diameter within a 5 tenths of the OEM wheel/tire diameter so the speedo doesn't read low or high.

OEM diameter with brembo package 19's is 27.2"
275/35/19 on the same wheel will be 26.6"

Kind of what to revive this thread.

The BF sport comp 2's dont come in a size I'm looking for. I want a wider tire, somewhere up towards 305. The MT street comps would be perfect but they are on back order it seems everywhere for 2-3 weeks.

Any other suggestions?
