How many Lava Red cars made
Well aparently the color is done for 2012.. How many do you think were made? When did they start producing the 2012s in Lava, Jan? 6 month run at how many a month. Would be nice to get a ball park figured..

I thought the `12 production started around late Feb. or early Mar.
And as far as getting a production number for Lava Colored cars we may have to wait till the model year ends.

I think there are probably more than we think because since it was new the initial 12s that started rolling on to lots were all Lava, at least around here. Its the whole reason I ordered the color and am sooo glad I got it. Can't wait to find out though!

I test drove a Lava today. I like the color.... but am afraid of it over the long run. Probably wouldn't get it for myself, but it sure is purdy. Do you think it will be a "rare" (sought after) color, or dated looking in 10 years ?

I was all hot and bothered to get a Lava red but with one look could not do it. Am I missing something here? I saw one parked next to a black one and it looked like a black one with a bad paint job. I was very disappointed. Waiting on a 12 GT Premium coupe , Black with saddle leather due in about 4 weeks.

YES - You missed seeing it in all lighting conditions. In full sun. Under partly cloudy skies. In shadows of trees. Under lights in a garage even. The beauty of this color is in it's ability to transform throughout the day - even from side to side. One moment you have a dark, almost black, car, the next a peculiar brown, the next a stunning dark red sparkle. I've had strangers stop by my house after seeing it parked in the driveway and ask me where they could get this color (and that's after I'd moved it back to the garage - out of sight for several days).

That second picture really shows what this color looks like. Nice camera work, it is really hard to get the deep red in a picture. Absolutely love the color, but as has been stated before...its just as bad, if not worse than black to keep clean. But it is worth it! Im really interested to see how many Lava/Saddle premium MCA's were made! Put a C&L intake and Flowmaster axle-back on, love the sound! Deep and throaty in lower revs, then howls up top

Looks great when clean, but I'm finding it too high maintenance for my taste. I I chose to keep it looking like that I'd have to wash every 3-4 days. Currently I'm doing once every 1-2 weeks. I'm looking into another paint job, perhaps a dark flat grey.
