Spring options
Looking for some opinions on what springs would work best with our adjustable shocks. Not sure how these spring rates compare to our factory springs. I was looking at the Steeda competition springs but those might be too stiff so now I'm considering Eibach Pro Kit. I do plan to track the car every once in a while.

It wasn too long ago that i went through this w my 10. After talkkng with people that sold just about all the springs the steeda sport were what i went woth and loved them. They pair well w d-specs not sre how far off boss dampers are from d-specs though. The thi. I remember was them telling me to stay away from springs w progressive rates if you want to maintai. Ride quality.

Too hard to tell without knowing the rates of the stock springs and each of the aftermarket ones

As for the Boss shocks, they are Tokico Illumina's (an older adjustable design than the D-spec and frankly not as flexible). I don't know the damping on them exactly, but they are meant to team with the stock springs which are not super stiff in front, about right in the rear (just too tall IHMO). I think any normal, moderate type lowering spring should be an ok match with those dampers. Just be advised that just because the comes stock with that, that does not mean they are the best shocks you could get.
As for what particular springs will work on the car itself the same things we do on normal S197's still apply... same chassis, same kind of weight...
Now that my GT is fixed, I'm getting some good data and can progress the setup. On 315 Hoosier's I'm now seeing 1.2g and the car is fast. Back to back showed an almost 4 second difference vs. a Shelby GT I also setup on the same compound tire over a 50-55 second autocross. And my GT is stock powertrain wise w/3.31's, this is just suspension and wheels/tires.

I can do that for you if you like... but one of the things that makes a set of those better is the front springs make for what I think is a better balance.

Thanks Sam. I spoke to someone that had the Steeda Comp's and they said they were a lot stiffer. I take it from your post you are running the Pro kit or the sportlines.
I'd like the look of the sportlines but not sure if thats too much of a drop without having to worry about camber and such.

When i went to lower my 2011 brembo GT ( hate the stock ride hight) i talk to Sam Strano . I when with a set-up Sam said work good on a DD mustang (Steeda Sport springs & koni STR.T shocks and Struts ) The set-up work just as Sam said it would. It made the car handle better , look better and the ride was very good for a lower car . Thxs Sam for the good Info.

Based on the numbers above I think I'm going to go with the Steeda Sports. I'm not sure how the rear end will feel being a little lighter than the stocks but the difference in the front should help with nose dive under heavy braking.

there are two different steeda sports, one is progressive the other is linear. the linear ones are the way to go..
this is stuff i have learned from reading several mustang forums, i tend to lurk in the road racing or handling section.. strano it the one that makes a point to make the difference between the springs known.. i would give him a ring..
guy knows his stuff, and has the wins to prove it..
sam if you happen to read this, where did you or they find the chaffed harness?
beers
