I'm probably going to get tires in the spring. I've currently got the Falken FK452s and I'm not thrilled with them. Plenty of grip, along with plenty of road noise.

I'm still debating on these or a set of Conti's for the next set.

I swapped to Bridgestones Pole Positions. Too much sidewall flex make for a bouncier ride. Front turn in feels crisper but tail comes around easier. Feels like I gained some grip but lost balance. Thinking of returning to stock P-Zeros.

I have BFGs KDWs on my 2000 as well. Great tires. I couldn't swing them for my 11 but sure wish I could have. Even the tread pattern looks awesome.

I talked with a Pirelli and an SRT engineer a few weeks back about the OE P-Zero on our Boss Mustangs. According to the Pirelli engineer, the P-Zero's were specifically designed for our cars to achieve maximum performance. When you purchase P-Zero's from a distributor like the Tire Rack, you need to request OE P-Zero's because their construction in specific to our cars and not all P-Zero's are created equal. The SRT Viper engineer who happens to be a close friend of mine agreed with all the statements made by the Pirelli guy.

I feel sad then that they spent all that time and money to make what I would consider just an OK tire.

I brought this specific test up to the two engineers and their opinion was that since the test was performed on a different vehicle it wasn't relative to how these tires would perform on our cars. It's not an "apples to apples" test.

Fair enough, esp when you consider the Boss 302 has staggered setup. The biggest grain of salt I consider is that Ford, the bean counters, and engineers have to account for a crap ton of financial, legal, profitability, and warranty factors for all 70,80, 90, 100k+ of production units.

An educated consumer can make the best choice based upon their desired level of performance, ride quality, durability, and value. I just put a set of Kuhmo Ectsa ASX all seasons on the wife's '11 GT. I fully expect these to deliver superior performance and values based on our needs.

For my Boss I expect to replace the OEM rubber with something else.
