Clutch Pedal on the floor
#41
The dealer in all likelihood will not be able to reproduce an issue that happens at WOT above 4 or 5k RPMs and there is no TSB for it, so even if the can reproduce the problem, it probably isn't going to get fixed. My dealer said they'd let a tech ride along and let me reproduce the issue, but I figured if they're not going to fix it, why bother? The clutch spring removal workaround also just makes things worse on 13-14s, from what I hear, but GT500s don't have the issue. So, from all I've read and experienced personally, your options are replace your clutch pedal with a GT500 unit or upgrade to a SS clutch line and eventually an aftermarket clutch disk or find a really nice dealer who will fix it without Ford's blessing.

what I dont understand is: when Ford was building the Boss and all the testing was taking place, this never happened to them??? Just dont get it how this could happen to so many Boss / GT owners and I guess never happened to the Ford team. From what I understand, its the clutch with the problem. So why does Ford replace the clutch with the same exact clutch when theres a problem.

I brought the Boss into Ford dealer, could not repeat problem, so they did not do anything.
then it happened again this Sat about 5 times
I have now an call into Ford dealer again
I BELIEVE the clutch master cylinder is going bad
not shifting easy from 3rd to 4th at WOT then clutch pedal does not return up.
I've been reading postings that MANY MT82 owners (both Mustang & Boss) have similar problems.

Update:
The same shifting/clutch pedal problem happened again on Sat May 10th about over 5 times.
I brought the Boss into Five Star Ford Plano on Wednesday May 14th and talked with Butch, the Service Manager. Butch got the greenlight from Ford on Thursday May 15th and now are repairing the the problem under my CPO warranty. YAHOO!!!
Butch has gained even more of my trust and respect.
DFW Boss owners, if you have tranny issues go see Butch @ Five Star Ford in Plano.

Several,of us have removed the clutch pedal helper spring and solved the clutch sticking to the floor issue.
The spring can be removed in 5 minutes.
Purpose of the spring is to add downward pressure to the second half of the clutch pedal travel. This adds resistance to the pedal returning. Remove the spring and the clutch returns easier.

Great job Five Star Ford, Plano. Thank you to Service Mgr, Butch Okrusch and Corey White in Sales
The clutch pedal engages earlier and clutch feel is easier.
I will test more later this week.

Do you still have the clutch assist spring installed?

I took my Boss in June 12th and got it back yesterday (23rd) for the sticky clutch pedal issue.
Your receipt looks identical to mine!
New Clutch, Slave Cylinder, Pilot Bearing, Pressure Plate, yadda... The works! All under warranty. I haven't gotten on it yet, since they told me to be easy the first 100 or so miles but It does feel different.
Mine's a lot easier to press in now! A lot less clunk.
Good work by Tom Magee at Autonation Ford of Katy, TX.

Let me know if the pressure plate assembly worked out.
Wonder if they would deny any warranty work on mine since I have a short shift and shifter bracket, braided clutch line and trans bushing insert.
Deysha do you know?
