Needs to be more Astony
Most likely was a media car or executive car. I used to see a lot of cars like this, GT500s and such that were the same way while I worked at Ford.

This is a pilot-production car (PPxxxx). It is the first U.S.-spec PP car to be released. Currently only three PP cars have been released for sale.
This is of 12 PP cars built. Other PP cars have the engine plate, so it may be possible the engine has been replaced.
You could ask the dealer to tell you what the markings are on the pad I've circled. The engine block production date and time is stamped there. There should also be a tag under the driver's side coil cover. see if the dealer would be willing to send you a picture of the tag.

This Boss was built on 10/26/2010 and has a Warranty start date of 03/02/2011. Also this vehicle was a company / corporate lease vehicle for a Ford Manager. The window sticker shows an MSRP of $40,620.............

Managers don't get PP cars as their leases, especially "Y" tags as the window sticker indicates. Y tags are evaluation vehicles to be used before actual production begins.

I went and looked at the car. Looks pretty nice needs tires & has a few chips but expected for a 30k car. Dealer could not answer any questions except that it was purchased on a bid process from Ford. The engine looks original to the car looking at the bolt heads and paint markings. I could not see the numbering that was indicated in the post above though. They are pretty firm on the price. Over all a nice car.
One other thing the sales person said they had two 5.0 GT cars in built in late 2010 that had BOSS motors in them sold them in 2011?? Anyone ever heard of that?
