And the 9.8inch rear components in an 8.8.
Carrier is 24lbs heavier in the manual due to it being harder iron compared to the aluminum in the auto. Explains the weight diff.

I would gladly spend the extra 1500 dollars on the 4 banger over the V6 model. The 4 banger is bigger talk than V8. That should be a mid to high 13 second 1/4 mile car all day long straight from the factory. With a tune you should be easily at over 300 rwhp and mid 300's rwtq. Car will rock

If the Focus ST and Fiesta ST are any indication. The turbos Ford uses are quite small and pretty much getting close to max. A tune usually builds low end and strong midrange with only a very modest bump in hp. Fords own FRPP for the Focus ST only adds 5rwhp but a ton of low end and midrange. Dave
That was actually gonna be my next question. Lol. I wonder how much boost Ford will be giving the 4 banger stang. Also, I wonder if that factory turbo will be maxed out with the boost or how much more can you turn the boost up on the factory turbo? So, you don't think the 4 banger will gain that much power from a tune and CAI?

Steeda has been working on Ecoboost engines in the Fusion and Focus. I have an Ecoboost Fusion AWD. Torque comes in real quick and car had great get up and go until you hit 60-65. Not so much high end punch for passing on two lane roads. Not an issue with the Taurus SHO which has plenty of passing oomph.

Its interesting to note that the EcoBoost motors uses a fairly small manifold plenum to increase response. A small plenum volume in an NA motor at least limits higher RPM power. I suspect a small plenum works against high RPM power as well in the EcoBoost engines.

I'm thinking this little 4 banger is gonna sell quite nice. For under $1600 dollars, one can have a more powerful mustang over the V6 model and get better MPG's. If I were in the market to get a new mustang it would be a no brainer between the V6 or 4 banger.
I would gladly take the 4 banger over the V6 and pay what I consider a small additional difference.

I'm really excited about these new engines. The 2.3 should be a lot of fun and I think the 5.0 has a lot left in it with the upgrades it has. I knew it would take what Ford learned from the Boss, but they took more then I anticipated.
