2015 Mustang EcoBoost Under-Hood Shot Says Fewer Than 1,000 Words
They say a picture is worth a thousand words. Evidently that’s not always the case because a recent photo of the engine of the new turbo EcoBoost engine for the Ford Mustang really tells us nothing about the car.
After some initial excitement over hearing what the car sounds like, about the only thing we can really make out from the photo is that the four-banger is covered up with a lot of plastic.
The image, posted on Reddit from a test mule, also shows that the engine block is pushed right up against the firewall, which is probably how they achieved that 52/48 front/rear weight distribution that should make this thing one hell of a ride on a racetrack.
The dealer employee’s Reddit post also says that the Ford rep said he'd been averaging 31 mpg in the car on the interstate with the air conditioning running.

Lol. What is it supposed to tell you? You can tell that it's a 4cyl. Rwd. Should it tell you it's future? Your future? Who writes this stuff? Lol

it DOES tell you that the dipstick handle will most likely stay yellow. This looks like the pics we've already seen of the i4. I'm still hoping they make the engine look as nice as the 5.0's... like at least a chrome or silver "EcoBoost" lettering or something.

They're selling this as a performance option yet that underhood treatment is as basic as it gets!
That's a major disappointment.
Then again, it might justify the big up-sell to the GT.

The covers are all bland really.
Then again, I'm not buying the car for the way the engine is dressed or not dressed.
If I really wanted to make it stand out, I'd dress it myself anyway.
I don't think anyone will look at it and go "I should buy the GT because the V8 LOOKS nicer than the Turbo4"
