I'd just add that it's a pretty darned good interior for the price...my base cloth interior isn't luxurious but it's comfortable and decent looking...holding up to 3 years of wear very well. The base seats have an attractice design and have decent support too.

...as for "clomping live axle;" have you actually driven one of these cars?

I have 200k+ miles on IRS sports cars that couldn't keep up with the suspension on the S197s. Sure, cornering with power on broken pavement, it was clear that the rear suspension wasn't able to compensate as well as an IRS...
...but if you're powering through corners with bad pavement in a 400hp car, the rear suspension is the first thing that needs to be improved.

Can you imagine how much fun you could have with a 2015 Mustang GT with $20,000 worth of mods?
My point exactly!

Nice.

Honestly, I don't have BMW kind of money at my disposal...but even if I did, I really feel that the Mustang is the kind of performance car that appeals to me, preferably in base/GT model form. It always has been an honest/affordable enjoyable drive with lots of power.

I'm super impressed with what the BMW guys are doing over there...3.9s 0-60 with the twin clutch auto...amazing...but if I had that kind of cash to toss around on toy cars, I'd own a pair of GTs...or maybe a GT500.

BMW is always conservative. They quoted the E92 M3 at 4.4 (DCT) and 4.6 with manual. Car and Driver did 0-60 in 3.9 with a DCT E92 M3 and Road and Track did 0-60 in 4.1 with a manual. So these things could rip from the dig...we will see. Interior.. Love the new Mustang but the M4 is having me rethink things. Love my 2013 E92 M3 and actually it would take a lot for me to get rid of this car...last M3 coupe and only model to have a V8, last normally aspirated M car. Here's a good link.. http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=923203
Why does BMW's Stig have his hand on the DCT shift button **** thing? I know you can change gears from that, but it just looks stupid, especially with the paddles in plain sight.

Maybe the M3/4 will still be the better car than the well equiped GT Stang -- its specs do look VERY impressive and those boys in Bavaria do know how to make a fine performance car -- but $20+K better? Boy, that's going to be a much, much tougher sell outside the core M fan-boy ranks I suspect, and Ford has yet to roll out it's "M" car equivalents, the inevitable SVT/Shelby model(s).
Very true, already happening. Go over to some of the M3 forums and there is a lot of positive talk about the new Mustang. Although the release yesterday of the BMW M3/4 kind of tapered it back. A lot of folks over there feel BMW is trying to build cars for the masses vs. the enthusiasts. In the M community the M5/6 is being smacked around quite a bit. Yes they are faster than hell but they lost a lot of the feeling when they ditched the NA motors and went with EPAS.

The M3/4 better be right or look out BMW..lot of owners will switch to the Mustang.

Could be moving it out of park or reverse...can't do that with the paddles.

I'm very impressed with the new M3. Only thing I don't like is in the videos the exhaust sounds like a swarm of bees. Not exactly inspiring. I may have to get one in 3 years or so when I need 4 doors.

more like the setup in the 3v 4.6 engines, it only partially blocks the port so that the valve causes the air/fuel mixture to literally tumble over the valve introducing turbulence that keeps the fuel atomized and mixed better at low air speeds where it could fall out of suspension.

As the engine increases in speed, the valves can open allowing the air to flow down the port as it is intended with everything moving fast enough to keep the fuel in suspension. The ports on the coyote might then rely on swirl as it flows into the combustion space to keep things mixed up or they might just be relying on the piston moving at higher velocity to keep things mixed.

It would be really cool if we could get the guys working on the engine (well cylinder heads specifically) to drop by and talk about them in a Q&A.

Like you guys, I'm just a hobbyist but the technology behind airflow is some downright fascinating stuff.

Agreed, I look at the photos and just drool over the M4. Then you hear the exhaust note in those videos and I thought it was a John Deere Tractor, vs. my E92 M3 with its S65 powerplant, 8 individual throttle bodies and a 8400rpm redline. Either I keep what I got or I probably move on to the Mustang when some of the SEs come out.

I would keep your m3. The m3 is my other dream car. The last of the v8 m3s is pretty special. I think your car will one day be a classic. The last naturally aspirated m3.
