Grinding on startup

Been experiencing an intermittent noise on startup. A brief grinding noise that lasts for only a second, right when the car is started. It doesn't sound like starter grinding, but then again it's been a long while since I've heard one do that.

Do ya'll think it's the starter? Only happens when engine is cold.

Hey Joeywhat,

You should bring it into your Ford Dealer and let them check it out. Make an appointment with them and let me get this escalated to the customer service manager for you area. Please, PM me with your VIN, dealer, mileage, full name, and best daytime number.

Deysha, my dad's truck is currently getting fixed, when I go to pick that up I'll talk with the service manager about it and see what he says. I'll contact you then if required.
