SIAP. I thought there was a thread on this but could not find it. I have a 2012 with the 401A package. At less than 1,700 miles the back left side bolster is creased badly and the wearing through at the seam. Has anyone else experienced this? I will take it to the dealer to see what they will do but it is too bad a $40,000 car has this happening after a couple of months.
The creasing is on the left and the wear through is beginning on the seam. I am not carrying anything other than my wallet in my back pocket. It looks lear wear from getting in and out of the car to me.

I had a busted seam where the back middle is sewn to the sides at about 10000 miles that was replaced Unser warranty. I haven't seen any other wear like that though. Definitely not cool. I have the stone colored interior so I may not be noticing wear as easy as the black interior. I'll be inspecting mine when I get back in from work on Monday.

Oh that does look harsh, I would def send a PM to Deysha so that she can escalate your issue to your local dealer. Hope they are able to fix it for you.

My '11 GT/CS has a driver seat bottom cover on order for it having a hole in a crease against the lower side plastic......or at least my service rep has not told me no yet... Seems like real thin material for sure.....I just turned 10,000 miles.

LOL. Love the comments. No jeans, no 400lbs, no whips or chains. I have another car with leather seats and 130k on the clock and no problems. I guess I will have to figure out a different way of getting into the seat.
Obviously this doesn't happen on all if them but this is exactly why I didn't get 401a. 400a seems wear better imo

That may not be a normal wear pattern. It looks, from the damage, as if someone entered and exited with something in their pocket, not necessarily you. There appear to be several smaller tears in the material below the big one suggesting somthing was dragged over the seam.
Ford should cover this since you are within the 12,000 mile window. Normally the manufacturer will cover everything for that period of time. I just went out and looked at mine, and it is perfect.
Good luck..

From my prior experience with a very low mileage F150 KR, months into the warranty, wear in a similar position, Ford denied warranty coverage. Read your warranty coverage booklet. Ford specifically excludes any coverage on seat coverings.
I suspect it's a manufacturing problem where the material is just a bit too short, causing significant tension stress at the seam. Slight contact is all that would be required for wear.
Anyways, good luck getting complete coverage on the seat coverings. In my case, Ford was willing to pay 1/2 of the 'discount' pricing for a new seat covering, and labor was free. I took it. Your experience will likely vary and I hope you get a better deal.

Could it be because the KR has the saddle leather seats? They replaced my driver leather seat cover at like 15000 miles for busted stitching

I had a similar problem on the side bolster of the driver seat back. Brought it to the dealer and was replaced at no cost to me. Service manager agreed with me that it was unusually worn. Kudos to my Ford dealer for taking care of it!

No damage other than me getting into and out of the seat. No sharp objects. At most it would be a button on a back pants pocket. If it were abuse I could understand that. I bet I haven't gotten into and out of the car 40 times yet.
