The only things that I can find that are different is the harness, an extra adjust motor for the driver's blend door, and an extra temp sensor. Also, the whole climate box itself is different. When I had the dash out, what I noticed is that there are 2 temperature blend doors. These blend doors open and close to mix hot and cold air to get the desired temperature - 1 door for the driver and 1 for the passenger.

In the single zone unit, both doors are controlled by a single motor from the passenger side. In the dual zone, there is a second motor on the driver's side that operates the driver blend door so that both doors can operate independently.

It may be possible to just get the parts for the blend doors rather than the entire climate box. But I don't know for sure without taking the dash out again. I'm hoping that those of you doing this might answer that.

Here is a comparison between the single and dual.

Orange is where the blend doors are located in the climate box.

Green and blue are the parts that are different. The harness and the climate box.

Red are the parts that are to be added. Another adjusting motor and temp sensor.

When you say dash do you just where the speedometer is or just everything in front of the driver and passenger. Also it wil be great if you can let me know if I got an amp already. Also maybe I will wait for the guys to put in dual so I can do it to.

When I say 'dash', I mean the whole thing. The entire dash has to come out. It is a 2 person job, by the way. The main wiring harness in the dash assembly has to be changed out, and the best way to do it is to remove the entire dash assembly. While you could change the harness with difficulty without removing the dash, you will NOT be able to change out the single zone climate box for the dual without removing it.

As for the amp, that is pretty easy. When you plug it all in, if the sound is muted, then you will need your amp.

Hey Jim question in the picture that I posted there's an extra black box on of the amp in the picture it's not the sync module. What is that for?

It is the climate control module. You will replace the one in your car with that one. It goes behind the nav screen.

Merry Christmas

Sorry Jim not to be a pain the neck. Just making sure I got everything it seems that I need the main dash harness, climate harness and the dual sun sensor. I got one cable with my unit AR3T-19C181-AC I think this is the antenna cable not sure. Also when I do buy my main dash harness. Do I get the one that this 2012 mustang Navigation had or it doesn't matter what year.

Should not matter. Get the main harness first and see what comes with it.

try:

www.car-parts.com

select - year 2010

Car - Ford Mustang

Select Part - look under any of the following:

audiovisual
CD player/radio
Heater/AC control
Info screen
Radio/CD
TV screen

Then hit search. It may prompt you with the following choices:

amplifier, ID 4R3T-18C808-AC
amplifier, ID 7R3T-18C808-AA
amplifier, ID 8R3T-18C808-AA

Check the ones in bold text.

Then just phone whatever comes up. If they have the panel, or screen or some part of the nav system, chances are they have the whole thing, but you will need to call to find out.

Do this for each year 2010 - 2014.

Good luck.

How hard would it be to just add sync to my car?

It MIGHT be as simple as adding the sync module, but you may need the proper harness as well.

Not sure about the module. You'll have to check the dealer or the website I provided. Harness may be ~$200. You will have to check with the dealer for the right harness for your car. It would have to be for a car with sync but no nav and for auto vs manual.

Some news coming on getting dual zone to work. Good news is it is easy.

Bad news is dash has to come out (as was stated previously). Should be done when you put in the nav. I'll be doing it in the spring.

Good to hear. I'm planning on doing the install sometime in late May, so I'll probably be one of the first to do it after it's figured out.
