How to remove faux gas cap/decklid emblem, help!

So I'm trying to do a little custom work on my own but I want to do it right. Does anyone know how to pop off the faux gas cap/decklid emblem? Is there already a thread on this? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I used a heat gun very carefully and a thin plastic paint scraper. This ruined the adhesive underneath. I replaced my fake cap with the tribar from the v6 so this didn't matter to me. I'm sure you can get replacement adhesive somewhere.

I don't see what year Mustang you have but for the 13 - 14 Mustangs it's a bit more difficult that the other years. You have to remove the panel and do some Dremel work but it's not to bad, I did it. Below is a link I followed. I will tell you that you don't need to Dremel out as much as the instructions show in picture #4. Also be careful popping the panel off, I've heard of people breaking tabs doing this.

I used some #40 braid fishing line to cut through the adhesive tape and a plastic paint scraper to remove mine. Then I removed the GT emblem off the faux gas cap, painted it black and installed it in place of the faux cap.

No problem, good luck it's not that bad of a job. Are you putting on a custom cap by emblempros.com?

This is the custom cap I had made. My build is going to be dedicated to the Marine Corps, how hard was it for you to get the panel off, I'm thinking I may be better off having a body shop take it off and ill put it back on?
