I like them... I would prefer a functional unit but that is such a hassle with the new cars. Classics that I put scoops on are functional.

If we all only did things that are functional, there would be no stripes, fancy wheels, or much of an aftermarket business or other items of the like.

Look at other cars and do what YOU like.....not what others tell you they like.

I am voting Yes!

I also have the over the top stripes, but on a black car. I added the scoop and think it looks mean. As for the gap. I went around the lower edge and used black silicon and it looks great. I know it's not functional, but the shaker scoop covers the engine, and at least this one was designed with the hood in mind.

I voted NO but thats wrong

My answer is "depends on color of the car"

I like it on darker colors, probably because the gap is less noticeable

No - I prefer the stock 2011-12 hood, works with the body lines quite well.

I like the way they look. The drag effect is minimal and Mustangs have had non-functional scoops since the 60's. Same for side scoops.....of course I'm bias....I say scoop it. I really think it looks nice with the crease stripes from bob white (mine are drying as I type).

At first I thought it was cool. Now it looks like somebody left a pizza box on your hood.

I'll add a caveat to my previous vote. I like the hood scoops if you have side scoops. It adds to the overall look. AzPete the classic CS script on the hood scoop looks great!

I'd say go for it... I get compliments all the time, mine came with it... once I add the cs valence and get rid of these goofy grill fogs ill finally be happy...

Vote no on the scoop, the hood already entails a powerful look without the scoop, and I feel like its too awesome to be covered up

I have decided to pass, I think I want to keep the exterior lines as clean as possible.

Love my OEM scoop that came with Package 5.

If I didn't get it I'm sure I would have ended up adding it eventually. Love the look of scoops.

Honestly the hood scoop is my least favorite thing on my car. I would say its the side scoops, but I can take those off without leaving giant holes on the car

I went with the scoop because I felt the hood is just too big and flat, it makes the front have a more flowing and rounded look. As for functional (Shaker) that looks like a ping-pong ball balanced on a basketball, totally out of proportion. Now there is a guy near me that made the OEM scoop functional but I don't like the idea of cutting large holes in my hood.

I do think that if the Ford hood scoop was:
#1 Functional
#2 molded into the stock hood
Then it would look fantastic.....but that has yet to be an option. The Saleen hood is close, but way too overpriced! The RK Sport one looks good but then looks too much like a Camaro hood!

I have yet to see the NEW Steeda hood in a solid color, but that is probably gonna be my favorite thus far!

To me the stock hood is great if the "power-dome" would be about 1" higher, but not extend any farther forward!

Guess I'm in the minority here. My base GT did not come with hood scoop. I bought mine pre-painted from Zigs and LOVE THE LOOK! No regrets!

Isn't it just a stick-on fake hood scoop? Definitely no, the stock hood looks awesome and clean.
