American Muscle AMR Wheels/Charcoal

I pulled the trigger on these because I was able to get the wheels and tires for just over $1400. My front tires were worn in a strange way and I wasn't sure if the wheels did the damage or if the alignment was off. The alignment check is scheduled for tomorrow. More on those results later. But the bad situation worked out in my favor either way because these wheels are gorgeous!

Ive been wanting an RTR style wheel and I had pretty much settled on the TSW's until I saw the price on these. Now, I know you get what you pay for, but the other American Muscle wheels get excellent reviews so I decided to take a chance on these. Initial impressions on them is excellent. The charcoal color is very grey in sunlight and slightly darker in shade conditions. The only real complaint I had was that the insides are not painted/powdercoated like the fronts. That may be an issue down the road. But the mount and balance job is excellent and they were mounted and shipped within one day of ordering them!

Fitment is excellent. They are just slightly tucked into the wheel wells. Maybe 3/8 to 1/2 inch. They stance is very nice. This is what I wanted those Foose wheels to look like. I got the 19's with the Pirelli tires. Later when these are ready to be replaced I will go with Nitto's or Toyo's. With the 245/45/19's and 275/40/19's the fender gap isn't that bad but after the suspension is done it will be much better but it's definitely livable till then.

I hope these pics help someone if they are on the fence about these. Sorry the car isn't the cleanest it could be. It's been raining alot here and the roads are horrible right now and not going to be getting any better since the rain is on the radar again in the next few hours. Once the Forty days and Forty nights: Part Deux of rain is over I will wash and get better pics in the sunlight.

Looks great, way closer to the RTR's than the SVE drifts. Good job!

It looks good considering it's not lowered. A small drop will make it look even better. I'm leaning towards getting a set of these wheels also.

I got my charcoal AMRs on the 14th. I kept the 18's and went with the 18x9 255 for the front & 18x10 275 for the rear.

Nice wheels and it looks great with your 'stang!

I'm looking to get these too for my '07 GT but in a even more staggered set (18x9 in the front & 19x9.5 in the rear). My only concern is my GT is alloy grey, I'm worried the charcoal wheels will make the entire car look dark

Are these the same exact wheel as the RTR's except for the aggressive offset?

Looks good BTW!

They are not RTR's. I say that because I don't know who makes the RTR's. I'm not sure who makes these for American Muscle. Probably whoever makes the other replica wheels they have.

They are Mesh or Drift style wheels that almost every wheel manufacturer makes a version of. TSW has the Nurburgring's, HRE has the P40's, Eurotek makes several styles with the same design, UO02 and UO06. I considered both the Eurotek wheels but they were both going to run almost $2000 with tires and the UO06 only come in 20's. I was trying to get away from the 20's. I also wasn't majorly happy with the way the rear wheels looked. The rear offset on these is 48mm which is just a shade higher than stock which pushes the wheels in a little more and the wheel doesn't stick out as much. You get a staggered setup but the wheels in the rear are just tucked enough to limit the amount of debris thrown up on the car. Plus if you want them to stick out more you can always add some very small spacers to push them out further. More pictures coming today! Its sunny out!

TSW's are much flatter. they lack the depth of the RTR.....but a great wheel, with many size/offset options.

Yes they are. The TSW do not weigh a ton either. They are a little lighter than the AM wheels. That's one of the main reasons I went down from 20's to 19's I dropped almost 11 pounds per wheel with these over the Foose wheels. The Eurotek wheels are great as well with different sizes and offsets. But in the end I needed to switch wheels and tires and these were the best option for me. I love the look now!

They look awesome! Glad you're happy with your new AMR's. We worked hard on the offset and fitment on that wheel. After you get your suspension figured out, it should sit nice and aggressive and that wheel well will be filled.

Great choice, especially the color. Light or dark colored cars look amazing with the Charcoal AMR.

Here are the 19" x 8.5" and 19" x 9.5" Charcoal AMR Wheels on the AmericanMuscle.com 2012 Mustang GT Project Car, Project Blackout!

Someone on another thread mentioned that the 03 Mach one center caps were 2.5" and would fit. AM has some Tri-Bar Pony Center caps that are 2.5" as well. I would like to find some like the ones that come on the Brembo wheels that just have the Pony.

I put the AM GT4 wheels on my 06 in hypercoat almost 2 years ago. Still look great, and get comments all the time. Their service is great.
