Cool 2013 Mustang GT Stock VS Intake/Exhaust/Tune Acceleration Test!

Quick comparison I did of the acceleration of the car from 65-145mph when it was stock compared to how it is now 65-150mph. Basically it reaches 100mph 0.7-0.8 seconds faster, 120mph 1.6-1.7 seconds faster, and 140mph 3.1-3.2 seconds faster. Not too bad for just a Steeda Intake, JBA Off Road Xpipe, and Bama 92 octane performance tune

I put on a cold air intake an SCT tune and a BKK 85MM throttle body I have upgrade the exhaust to Ford Racing X pipe and gt500 mufflers. It is amazing how much more responsive it is and how much more torque. So go out and get that throttle body. it is worth it. I will dyno it soon but it is estimated 420+whp torque unknown.

Could we know more about test conditions? Repeatability, ambient, personnel, equipment, experimental design?

Thank you.

Yeah I'm thinking about getting a throttle body. We'll see. I may do a before after dyno of the boss manifold and then with a new throttle body.

Yeah sure. Temps were about the same for both runs, around 50 degrees. Both runs were with 93 octane in the gas tank. Both runs were on a flat road. Rev limiter is a little higher on the tuned version allowing to take 5th to 150 when I shifted into 6th in the stock version at around 140mph. That's why I posted how much quicker it gets to 140. Stock is also limited to 147mph which is why you don't see it get quite to 150mph.

Nice improvement. What was the total times to 140? Looked like roughly 11/12 seconds modded to 14/15 stock.

So that's one run with each set of conditions? How was the time measured?

About 11.2 seconds with the mods vs about 14.4 stock.

Yeah. And a stopwatch comparing the mph in the video. Not super accurate but close enough.

Lol what more do you want? I timed it with a stopwatch several times and it comes out about the same each time so it's pretty close. And the speedo was accurate both times. If 0.2 seconds difference is going to change whether you think it's worth it to mod your car or not worth it, then you're crazy.

Nice to have that information. "...the speedo was accurate..." How was that determined?

I'm still skeptical WRT the reliability of any conclusions drawn from comparison between just two trials.

What track was this on?

GPS determined speedo was accurate. This wasn't a super scientific experiment. It was just to give people an idea lol.

Throttle body is a waste of money on a stock head/intake car. Already shown to have no gains on the dyno (Not advertisers dyno...). The modern 5.0 isvery well engineered compared to the original 5.0 and 4.6. If the factory TB wasn't up to snuff, why did Ford use it on the Boss, which spins higher and could use the airflow??? Until you get into FI or working the heads/intake the stack TB is plenty. Spend you money elsewhere.
