The Elite 8 is set in TheMustangSource.com's
Best Mustang Ever tournament, and there are several intriguing matchups.
It's Boss 302 vs Boss 302 in the Flat Rock region and Shelby vs Shelby in Metuchen. The 2000 SVT Cobra R slipped past the 1967 Shelby GT500 in a shocker and will meet the 1970 Mach 1 in the Dearborn finals. And in San Jose, the 1969 Mach 1 edged out the 1970 Boss 429 and will take on the only S197 left--the 2007 Saleen Parnelli Jones S302.
This round is open for voting until the morning of Friday, November 14. Voting for the Final Four will run from the morning of November 14 through mid-morning, November 17. The Finals will start mid-morning on the 17th and will end when the 2010 Mustang is unveiled at the LA Auto Show on November 19.
When the tournament is over, we'll have a showdown between the Best Movie Mustang--the 1968 GT390 Fastback from
Bullitt, the Best Concept Mustang--the 2003 Mustang GT Concept, the Best Mustang Racecar--the 1970 Trans-Am Boss 302, and the Best Production Mustang.
