my red leather on the door panel passenger side has peeled do to the heat in miami what glue should i use i dont want it to stain i used a glue stick but it only worked 1 day ....help guys ....
First, the material on the door panel is not leather, it's vinyl. Second, get some 3M Super Adhesive #08090 and it will work great. I previously used a different 3M product and it did work for a while but eventually failed. The #08090 will hold. Good luck!

I live in miami and i had the same problem. I took it the dealership and they wanted to keep it for a day to fix it, so i said forget it. The second thing i tried was 3M adhesive. Worked will for about 3 days and the panel started peeling again. And the third thing i tried and finally solved my problem was going to Home Depot and buying "Loctite Concrete adhesive" Trust me, I did this about 6 months ago and its still on. Here's what it looks like and it cost about $10-$15...
got it fixed i went to the dealer they wanted 100 bucks i said ok thanks and just walked away lol then went to pepboys ask an old cuban guy for the best auto interior glue and he gave me a can of HEADS UP adesive good stuff did it my self 7.99 by the way for the idiot that comment leather vinyl same **** u think ford uses real leather like on my Range Rover Sport.
I recently posted a question about this earlier and since then my door panels have come completely off. I now have to go to a local interior shop and have it redone at 125 per door. Ford wants 360 per door for new panels.

How is that Loctite holding up?
I live in FL too and have the same problem - the spray adhesive I have lasts about a week then starts to peel again.
Thinking about making a run to Home Depot for that stuff

Yeah give us an update. My passenger side is nearly all the way loose I'd like to fix it once and be done with it.

Guys, the stuff you want to use is DAP Landau Top HHR contact cement. Take the entire panel off and reinstall it using this stuff...your troubles will be over. You can get this stuff at any Sherwin Williams store. Just trying to help.

Both my doors peeled over the last few weeks and one of my friend's 05' is peeling too. Here in Austin Texas, the heat is just as bad but I think ALL 05' stangs will be going through this even in minimal heat in other states. I think it's a poor design on Ford's part. Why do people build crap?
Because people buy it, and are too cheap to upgrade to not-crap. Or do you want to spend $50000 on a V6?
You don't want any issues? Fine... find me a mass manufactured car that hasn't EVER had issues in it's life span, across the entire line, any model year you like, any manufacturer you desireYou will not find one. Period. It is statistically impossible.
I have the same peeling door panel issue, and will soon attack this, and a couple of other small maladies, and it doesn't much bother me... cars age and things change. You fix them if you love them. I love mine. She will be fixed as needed.

My driver's side is also starting to peel off in the middle (I haven't checked the passenger side yet or had a passenger notice and tell me), but not bad enough to warrant fixing yet. When the time comes, I've got some 3M automotive interior glue that I'll try first. I don't remember why I originally bought it, but I've found plenty of uses for it since then. It's still workin' great, so I figure it's worth a shot.
Well. You all can add me to the peeling list.
Earlier this week when I opened the driver side door, I was like WTF?
So, I had to get some rubber retaining strips, the same stuff used for fastening screens on screen porches, and use that as a temporary fix to hold it in place until I can get it repaired.
I'm gonna try nitecrawler27's suggestionand get someLoctite Concrete adhesive.
I've never had any problems with my car until this happened. It's ironic because it happened exactly 5 years after the day I first took delivery of it.
Dang this Florida weather! Dang you!

I'm noticing from the signature panels that most of you guys have '05's. Who here has an '06 with this problem? Mine's hasn't had a problem...yet

I've got an 07 GT, picked it up in July of 06, and also live in Miami, FL. The red door panel on my car is completely off, been coming undone for weeks now on both sides, driver's side finally gave up. Funny thing is its garaged at home and work since day one. Found a HOWTO some where else that explained you have to scrape off all the fuzz thats on the door before you use some contact cement to stick it back on, flattening as you go up. Guess my new car aint so new anymore...

Both of mine came off so I went to a trim shop and they did it for me while I waited. $150 total. The guy told me that YOU MUST CLEAN OFF THE BACK OF THE LEATHER AND THE DOOR WITH A FIRM BRUSH, then it will hold. It is leather (if you got the leather trim package) just cheap ****.
