I test drove an '06 coupe today, for about the third time, just comparing cars. The first time i drove a used '05 with 9k miles on it. This time it was a brand new one with 36 miles on it. And whenever i went over a bump, the passenger side dash rattled a bit. I noticed that some people have had this problem on their '05s. But this is a brand new car, and its rattling? Has anyone discovered a way to get this fixed? If there's one thing i absolutely cannot stand, its rattly interior components. Everything else was rock solid, except for that.

Mine rattles (vibrates) when I put the hammer down and I'm approaching the next shift point. Sounds like a bunch of pennies in an ashtray that I don't have. Not sure if it's psychological or not, but I think I can feel it in the shift **** as well.

The rattling you are hearing is caused by that blue emblem with the silver script.

Mine started rattling after I lowered the car and the ride got stiffer. It also comes from the passanger side dash. It didn't rattle at all before lowering though.

Mine rattles on the passenger side of the dash. The colder it is, the louder it gets. I have an appointment to take it into the shop on Tuesday... It seems like a mounting screw or clip must have come loose or something.

Naaa, I don't think that's it because I had a rattletrap that had a great big chrome "A" on the front. I think they ALL rattle in some form or fashion.

The rattling isnt caused by the blue oval. The new F-150 is rattle free. We have a new F-150 for our parts truck, has over 50,000 on it, not a rattle in it. And i've driven other new cars as well, dodge dakota, back seat rattled. Honda Odyssey, driver side dash rattle.

My 2003 Accord had a bunch of rattles in it. Unless you buy a top of the line Benz you'll probably have a rattle or two in your car.

The rattle could be the latch for the passenger side seat belt is undone. Although it sounds like it is coming from the dash, you may actually be suprised where the rattle is coming from.

Me too, I have had plenty hondas and acuras that rattle...and right now I have a 01 f150 that doesn't rattle with over 130k. I don't have my GT yet but my friend does and he doesn't have the dash rattle (06) but he does have some others at times. When its cold...a non lux and some lux car will more than likely rattle some...when its hot it probably wont. If its real bad something might be loose.....

I have a '91 Mustang... it rattles but not nearly as bad as my new Mustang.

In fact, my '91 transmission is as quiet as a church mouse. When I drive my '91 it's actually a relief to my ears because it's soooo darn silent.

Ford screwed the pooch on the rattles and transmission in this model.

Oh and they refuse to fix my transmission until enough people complain for a TSB so anyone out there with a manual tranny that's grinding, whining, and just plain loud... please complain.

And yeah IF you buy a new Mustang and get one without a dash rattle you will be very very lucky. But I doubt that will happen since most people have it.

I've had dash rattle issue with my 05 from december of last year, I've had it in to the dealer about 12 times now just for rattles. They seem to have finally taken care of them, I've had about 2500 rattle free miles.

It is my understanding that there is a TSB for the dash rattle. I am taking mine in next week to see if the numeber exist and if so what the cure is. I will keep you posted.
