UPDATE on the "Reload" perf. Pkg from MRT!
The following is from IMBOC.com courtesy of Greg.
![]() "Here is the latest update from Scott Hoag on the Reload package. 'We are making some revisions to the hood style....making the lines all flow correctly...the signal indicators are engineered, we are building prototypes now. Qtr windows are looking good, serial numbering scheme is in the art work phase,Turbo kit is done, exhaust system is done, suspension system is done, shifter is done. We are finishing up the details on a wheel/tire package. I expect we are looking at 8 to 10 weeks to have the entire kit ready to go.' The turbo kit I posted is the kit that will be available for the Bullitt. Although not mentioned I think the brake upgrade is also complete. I may have some photos to share soon!! This is the brake upgrade package with a few changes mentioned before. I believe it was red calipers with Reload engraved.

I'm wondering the same. My understanding and limited experience with a turbo is the additional consumption of motor oil.

Does a turbo or supercharger effect the fuel consumption at all?

You might like to post the question over at the GT Performance forum. Those who have S/C'd their GTs will be able to answer.
The 4.6 s/c Roush & Saleen have GGT so I would assume by the mpg that they do. The turbo Capri I had was not economical.

550HP would seem to be pushing the limit for non-forged internals as well?

Then S/C it. It's the amount of boost that you have to worry about...

S/C's don't really affect mileage unless you open it up enough that the s/c kicks in. that has been told to me by many s197 s/c owners. The GGT is there b/c the epa probably factors in the hard acceleration more, which would hurt your mileage.

Boost is boost, and boost to get a stock engine with non-forged internals to 550 HP may be pushing things? Maybe not. Someone must know. |

I understand that. What I was saying is that an S/C isn't going to push you to 550hp, maybe 400 something at the most, which is perfectly safe for the stock internals.

The 400hp Whipple from Ford racing only has 5psi of boost, vs this turbo's 8psi of boost, PSI is alot higher.

Roush is currently offering a S/C for the 4.6 3-valve that claims 445hp at the flywheel on 5psi of boost c/w intercooler. Remember that 1 lb. of boost equals 7% more hp, therefore 5 lbs. of boost equals 35% more power from the original hp of the engine. Any difference is made up within the supercharger itself (and intercooler charge).

S/C isn't going to be just 400hp at the most and that's it. Not every turbo charger is going to push to 550hp either. So we are still at the question of whether 550hp on a stock non-forged internals 3v is 'safe' and for how long. That's what is being offered in the reload package. |

I know it's going to be more than 400hp, I was just saying that in the area of 400 something and I've heard stock internals taking a fair amount of boost. 550hp may be too much, but we'll see.
