the front chin spoiler looks so much better in black on this car then it does on the GT/CS

Yes, this car looks much better than the GT/CS IMO. However, if you took the hood/hood scoop off the GT/CS (or GT appearance package) and put it on the GT-350H, you would come much closer to the original.

I really like the grille but would prefer to have the car without the rear spoiler.

I guess I will have to build my own G.T. 350T (T for Tribute or for those that get mad about that type of stuff I could call it the G.T. 350P for Poser )

Too bad all these post will disappear soon.

There is something seriously sadistic about a company that makes these available for rental ONLY, and yet gives purchasing customers the "California Special."

"...and a numbered ID plate featuring the engraved signature of Carroll Shelby is placed between the center A/C vents." Um, excuse me, but what about the customers who are paying $65K+ for a GT500...? They don't get the ID plate? What gives here?

Am I the only one who thinks this Shelby GT-H looks awesome? I mean, the wheels could use some work, and it needs a manual transmission, but otherwise...

Thanks for the link! Explains it all.

Too bad these will be 70k cars at least once they go to auction....

Oh well!

They'll go for a lot more than that. Even beat up.

There will only be 500 made and only avail through Hertz. As a few of them get totaled and/or engines replaced etc., the number of avail cars will plummet. These will be worth more than the GT500s by far.

I'm a little miffed about the lettering not avail on the GT500 also.

I couldn't imagine buying one of these after it's been beat up by the people renting them. I know I wouldn't buy one after I rented it.

I'll bet that many dealers won't even rent them, they'll just hold on to them and try and fetch big money at auctions.

Maybe Ford just got the extra HP by copying Doug's tunes?

The NY pics look great! I love the S H E L B Y across the back. Come on Ford get your stuff together with the GT500 before it ships.

Well, mine was one of the first to retro the hertz look. I only added the 67 look with the grill and ducktail (and badging).

Wow, this car is awesome! Way to go Ford! So Kevin when does the hood and x-pipe go on sale? Even more important for me is when do the hood pins go on sale? Those things look like they would work great with the Cali Dream Hood.

Maybe there is time to get S H E L B Y across the back of the GT500.

Don't worry, Ford has time to cram the Shelby name to the left corner again on the GT350. Ford likes to make their production show cars look better then the ones on the street. Remeber, it took a year for Ford to roll out the 18 in wheels and they didnt like to put the antenna on the cars for show purposes.

I LOVE that hood. How would it look in sonic blue with white or blue stripes?

Ugh. I wish they made these production cars.

Man, I wanted to put the GT/CS front end on my '07 a couple weeks ago. Now Carrol has gone and done it before I could even get my car. darn him! I'm gonna have to go up there and have a chat with him about this.

Kevin, I also would like to know if the front bumper cover is going to be available soon (although I can wait until September probably).

The x-pipe is good to see, although unlike other brands, looks like this one requires cutting the stock exhaust, not just replacing it.

$139 doesn't seem too bad though, and since I already have the intake and flows from my '05, I don't have to re-buy all that.

By the way, I just called Hertz to reserve the car when they get it here in Las Vegas, and they're not taking reservations yet. The only information she had was that it would be available sometime in the middle of May. She suggested I call back every week or so to see when they will start booking it. Since I work just south of the airport, I will be able to run over there the moment it's available and grab it for a day or two. I'll keep my digital camera with me and snap some pics when I get a chance, unless someone else beats me to it.

Gotta get a little Mustang fix in sometime, haven't been able to drive mine for more than a month now, and probably won't get the new one until September.

Finally a decent car to rent from Hertz; for years I have asked them to get better cars. It was just this last weekend I traveled and saw that I could rent a 350Z from them at a cost of 88 dollars a day.

But it sucks that these renters are only in a few locations and I wonder what the low low cost of the daily rate is

sigh

As posted on another site, the GT-H is a different venture. It's a Shelby Automotive (Carroll Shelby) product much like Saleen. The GT500 is a Ford production Mustang (and a very nice one) for which Ford, for all intents and purposes, bought the Shelby name to affix on the trunk. Of the two, the GT-H is more like the original '60s Shelby Mustangs.
