X-Plan PIN

Hey Gang!!

Took a chance and scanned & emailed my X-plan application with proof of stock ownership to the address below:

"Stock Information, Stock (S.)" <stockinf@ford.com>

Low and behold, within 4 hours, got my X-Plan PIN number...The PIN number came via a reply from myplan@ford.com

For those that believe snail mail is so 80s and faxing is so 90s, here's a great way to get your PIN in quick fashion.

Hope this info helps...Lou

How many shares and how long have you had them? I thought they changed it to a minimum of 100 shares and you have to own them at least a year. I was going to buy 100 shares when stock was below $2 but didn't do it.

This is correct...100 shares and you must SHOW PROOF of ownership at the 6 month mark. I originally requested my PIN by sending my initial purchase of 100 Shares and Ford declined this proof. I had to get my financial planner to print me off a statement showing I still owned the stock at the 6 month mark.

When you purchase through Xplan do you also get any other rebates? Is the Xplan the best way to buy a new car? (i qualify for xplan through my job)

Yes. When i ordered my Mustang i think there was a $750 rebate. I got two more rebates for a total of $1,500 when my car came in, i didn't know about until doing the final paper work.

Yes, you are entitled any and all public and private rebates at the time of your purchase ( not the time you order) and yes ordered cars are considered part of dealer stock when you pick them up and pay for them.

ooohhh... maybe I will trade in my 10. I bought it 4 months ago and according to "edmunds" the trade in value is more than what I paid. With the xplan and the rebates it might make it worth it!! Whats the current rebates on a v6 $1000.??

For me the xplan was the best way to go because there was no haggling required. At first i was getting quotes without xplan pricing to see if i could get it cheaper. But they couldnt get it below it.

You may be able to get them below xplan but that depends on the dealer. I think xplan is a good deal.

I would negotiate trade in price first. I dont think kbb is accurate given the year end model deals currently available on new 2010s

You can also get the x-plan pin from the MCA.

One rebate program that x-plan does not work with is American Quarter Horse Association. Says it on their rebate form, or at least it did when I bought my F150.

Don't get your hopes up. Most dealers are going to use current auction prices as a starting point. Figure 75% of MSRP then subtract all the incentives being offered.

I'll say right around $12k for that in trade. . . (mostly for the miles). Yeah, I know.

What is the big deal about X-Plan anyway? You know what the invoice on the car is, it seems most people who are ordering their cars are getting them for a few hundred over invoice. Isn't that better than X-Plan?

We got the X Plan through MCA. In the end, it only saved us ~$200 - at first we were disappointed it didn't save us more, but they showed us how we were getting the car for almost invoice pricing anyway.

A lot of people may claim they are getting a few hundred over invoice, but I don't buy it. yes some are, but a lot of dealers aren't willing to give those great deals.

Based on my estimate, the dealer invoice w/holdback plus $850 destination and $550 for the FFDA fee, came to $110 less than what my x-plan price was.

X-plan also caps the doc fees at $75. Dealers here usually charge up to $500 for doc fees, so it saved me money there.

What I tell everyone is to shop the price w/o x-plan first. And then see if x-plan will be a better deal. I know with the amount of calls and emails I did, x-plan pricing was still the best route for me. Hopefully for some they can do better.

You pay $500 for doc fees because you ALLOW them to do that. I make the dealer eat them completely. Are they going to lose a sale over a doc fee? Probably not.

My dealer said their "Internet price" was $750 over invoice AND the $299 doc fee. And then I'd have to haggle. NO thanks. X-plan got me ~$200 over invoice. I'm good with that especially with the $1250 in rebates I had.
