From what I understand, it can be a mix. You have to disconnect the steering, remove the starter, typically remove the motor mount on either side, remove crossmember, jack the motor up another 2" or so, try and get them wedged in there and then try and get all the nuts ran down. Some people also drop the K Member.

Congrats narph! However, given your vendor of choice, I'm not surprised at your misfortune. I hope you get it cleared up.

Lol. This is apparently the tracking on the Midpipe.

Yeah the GTO was actually kind of an easy job. Right side dropped right in. Left side required the steering arm thing to be disconnected. I think we did have to loosen only one motor mount, but not lift or remove anything.

The 5.0 is such a small engine in displacement, but actual size is huge. But that's what you get with a cammer.

Maybe it's not the vendor, maybe it's UPS. Don't think it's fair to badmouth anyone until we know for sure.

Personally, I would wait for the midpipes to avoid any issues.

Let's just say it's not the first I've seen or heard of this type of issue from them. What's key is how they react or respond to the situation, and how well and how quickly they respond to the OP, their customer. For the OP's sake, I hope it goes well.

Considering this situation, maybe they will send another set of mid pipes now, and if/when the others finally get found, they can be returned to the vendor? This seems a very fair alternative for the buyer and vendor. If its found to by the fault of UPS, they eat the costs.

They are out of stock on the mid pipes. This is just speculation, but maybe they were out of stock when I placed my order, made the tracking number, but it never shipped because they didn't have it to begin with, and was on backorder, and either no one realized, or no one told me, seeing as the tracking number doesn't even work or never went live. Or UPS just screwed up.

Either way, when I talked to them last night, they told me they were sending a trace out on the package, and when I asked about a refund, they said we would have to wait for the results of the trace, which could take anywhere up to 8 business days.

Except there is one problem. No Midpipe. Which sucks, hard, as this weekend is going to be the only weekend for me in the foreseeable future for me to install these(which I intentionally ordered to arrive before this particular weekend); I had everything worked out, plans made, lift cleared, so on and so forth, to put these puppies on, as I am about to start getting ready and moving to the new casa, and all the work that goes along with that. Called AM, and even though there is a tracking number on the mid pipes, the number will not pull up anything except "UPS Cannot locate shipment", and they are apparently 2-3 weeks out on Headers. Now(after talking myself out of running open headers for the time being) I am just sitting over here debating on just returning it all(sans tuner) as all they are good for now is being a particularly expensive paperweight. Pretty disappointing as I was really excited to get this done.

Oh well, **** happens. First world problems. At least you guys can enjoy some weldporn, here 'ya go.
Hey,

Great list of mods! Your car is going to be a completely new animal with the Kooks exhaust and X4 Tuner.

I'm sorry to hear that the Mid-pipe hasn't showed up yet. I'm glad to see that we shipped them but I'm disappointed that the tracking is having some issues. I'm going to have our Shipping/Tracking team contact UPS and see exactly what is going on here. It definitely looks like some sort of issue with the carrier. Either way, I'll make sure you're taken care of quickly!

Please shoot me a PM with your order number included and I'll make sure you're contacted today! Hang in there, we really appreciate your patience.

Well, received another box from AM, and as I feared, they shipped another set of headers, and not the mid pipe.

So I have to set's of Kooks headers, yet no mid pipe to finish it off, which sucks as it is a three day weekend and there was a very small chance that I may of had time to work on it, lol.

And there's AM coming through for you again. Do it right and go through a reputable place like hypermotive or LMR.

Sorry narph.

Sorry narph.
I actually find it kind of hilarious, but I wouldn't had time to install them this past weekend anyway because I had a last minute 17hr drive to Vegas for a funeral and then back, and just got back in town late last night. Trying to get the time and space to install them this weekend would have been difficult, next weekend I am in Houston for the NHRA nationals, and then after that I am more than likely going to be occupied with moving and stuff for the time being after that. Not 100% sure when I'll have time, but there might be plenty of time after mid may when the shop is going to be cleared out based on the NHRA schedule. I might be able to squeeze it in during the week and knock it out over the course of a few week nights after work, and just bum a ride.

The little devil who sometimes occupies my left shoulder told me I should sell them, but I am a firm believer in karma.

I just want my dang mid pipe, lol!

Yeah sorry to hear that. I'm working with another vendor right now that's just so-so. But hey, lesson learned for me, and hopefully you too. Just put up with this for now, and know that next time, you'll know what to do and where not to buy.

I had originally contacted Jay when I made this thread to see what he could do for a mid pipe. He took care of me, but I had some paypal issues and decided that I am just going to wait for AM to get everything fixed. Jay is awesome though, and extremely quick to respond. I can see why you use him.

PM'd Dan and am waiting to here the next course of action.

Well, after playing phone tag all week, sending back the extra set of headers I had randomly recieved, and the whole situation being absolutely muddled and confused, I'm just returning the headers and just not installing any for the foreseeable future. I will also NEVER place a single order on American Muscle Ever again. Something I was initially excited for was turned into a hugely stressful situation, less than helpful phone conversations, and generally subpar customer service(getting hung up on is never very great of an experience) . The only helpful person was the one I talked to when cancelling everything. I'm typically easy to work with, but when you have a $2,000 purchase that stretches over the course of a month, it is a bit absurd, especially when they will not refund you the money for a part you've never received, so you can order the missing part from a number of other companies who stock it, and who are much more helpful, like Jay from Hypermotive; although I've never spent a dime with him, was exponentially more helpful, responsive, and generally more cordial than a company I have spent a vast amount of money with over the past 6 months, and planned to spend a lot more with in the future. He also offered better prices, and faster shipping options.

This whole thing has been a giant headache and leaves me full of regrets, the number one being ever spending a dime with AM. Learn from my mistakes and spend your money elsewhere.
