Swapped my summer tires back on and now the tires shake when they warm up. Ugh.

Special ordered it and was there when the car came off the truck. Not sure why it got the F1s, but I'm not complaining.

I don't know that I would pick them for overall performance but they're still good tires and it's pretty **** cool that you got those. I wonder if other people are receiving these as well on their '14 coupes or if yours was the freak.

They're still 255/40/19, right?

Yep, I suppose there are others out there getting the same, could've been a supply shortage or whatever for the Pirellis. Honestly not sure why they would even try to segregate the type of tires between coupe/convertible, you would think they would have two suppliers and just use what they got on whatever cars are rolling down the line.

It's a good question but I have to assume that it has something to do with the extra flexibility of the convertible chassis which may be better behaved with less grip or might benefit from a less -arsh ride that might reduce cowl shake, etc.

Autos have Goodyears, manuals get Pirelli.

I think I still prefer the Pirellis to the Goodyears, though. The GYs might last longer, but the Pirellis do seem to grip well.

In either event, I'll be upgrading next year most likely.

Cross the board? If so, not true. My '13 is a 5.0/auto/coupe and came with Pirelli's.

Hmm... I'm interested as to what the real story is.
I assumed it was Pirellis for coupes, Goodyears for convertibles.

No idea, but that does seem to be the trend from what I've seen.

Perhaps it has more to do with the specific packages installed on the vehicle, and then perhaps in some cases it's a manual/auto thing. From the V6/performance package cars I looked at before ordering mine, the autos had Goodyear, the manuals had Pirelli (all 2014's). I didn't really take notice of what the other Mustangs had (although many seemed to be sporting Pirellis of some sort).

I see. Or it could be that both Goodyear and Pirelli have contracts and whatever comes from the warehouse is what gets put on the car: black, round, correct size, installed!

I saw 18's with Pirellis and 19's with Goodyears. My auto 14 GT has Pirellis. They are noisy, that's for sure, but not as bad as a cheap tire. My wife had a cheap set of tires on her Mazda and I swear it sounded like the bearings were bad. I replaced them with Kuhmos and they are very quiet but just a bit spongy for a Z rated tire, at least the ones I got are.

The 14 auto Brembo coupe I'm looking at buying has Goodyears.

Oh FFS. I bought a set of low mile Boss 302 wheels and tires. Never dismounted, but stored for a year. The fronts are doing the exact same thing my factory tires did. The rear 285s are dead smooth, but the fronts....grrrrr. I got the wheels and tires for a reasonable price, so that's all good and well, but I'm almost wondering if Pirelli made a bad batch of 255/40/19 P-Zeros.

Time to go out and spin the tires on the wheels again.

make sure you mark where the tires came off from so that you know to put them back in the same place when you swap your tires around. sometimes they get flat spots as well if they sit too long. Try to drive it for 10-15 minutes to give the tire a chance to work it out.

maybe its your lugnuts. Might not be installed and not centered correctly.

Those are the things I've had issues with in the past.... Goodluck!

I drive the car 40 miles a day. In the morning, by mile 15, I have a pretty good 70mph shake. In the afternoon, it is as soon as I get on the highway because the car has been sitting out in the sun all day. I torque the lugs down to 100 lbs in a star pattern.

100lbs of torque? is that the requirements? I dunno, I haven't looked it up. My Hyundai's were 85 pounds.

I know that if you over torque, you run the risk of warping your rotors - So I've been told....
