Specs of 2011-14 GT Temp Spare ??
I've got a V6 and bought a 17" temp spare off of e-bay from a 2007 GT (aluminum rim with T185/60R17 tire ... 28.66 lbs).
2011 GT's came with an 18" temp spare, but can't seem to find specs.
Need tire size and weight of the 2011-14 GT temp spare rim/tire assy.
Also, is this spare the SAME for all 2011-14 GT's ??
Thanks,
Doug

Dumb question. I've never used spacers. Could I just buy spacers and keep one in the trunk with the 17 inch spare? Is it hard to put a spacer on? If spacers make a spare work with brembo brakes, this could be the hot ticket. Thank you for bringing this up. I never even thought of this.

My car has the 18" spare and I was shocked at how nice it is. I was expecting a donut :P. It certainly beats the kit the track pack cars get. If I don't want the extra weight, I just pop it out at the track haha.

So we've got the tire size thanks to kyle ...
T185/55R18 = 26.01" Dia.
vs.
T185/60R17 = 25.74" Dia.
My 17" wheel is actually 2 "stamped aluminum" parts welded together like a steel wheel where that 18" is a cast rim. This is why I'm so curious about the weight difference.
Someone has got to have a bathroom scale or UPS scale at work they can use !!
Thanks,
Doug

If you get 1" spacers, they're bolt on - it's just like bolting on a wheel. The 5 lugs that hold the spacer on to the hub are recessed so the wheel fits flush with the spacer - my spacers are hubcentric too, so it's just like I'm bolting on a 19x10" wheel

Come on ... not one 2011-14 GT owner is willing to grab that spare out of their trunk and put it on a scale for me ??
I'm sure someone out there HAS already weighed theirs as they were curious as to what it saved taking it out when going to the track !!
Thanks,
Doug

The OEM spare weighs 32 lbs; jack/hold down weighs 5 lbs.

So that makes the 18" Temp Spare only 3 to 4 lbs. heavier than the 17" one from an '05-09 GT.
