I have a 2011 mustang GT and a grand to mod it. What mods would you do? My car is bone stock. I don't want a race car but I want something that has a deep loud growl and something a little more powerful than most base GT stangs. Any ideas would be great

Axleback exhaust from Borla or Roush, which should be around $800 with installation and then tint the windows.

Axle back (GT500 is cheap and popular) for $300. Otherwise hop on american muscle.com and look around. Lots of customizable options

Best bang for your buck is tune, o/r x or h and GT500 axle back.

GT500 mufflers and resonator delete is an awesome-sounding combo, and it should only be about $400 total if you install the mufflers yourself.

Rear lower-control-arm relocation brackets $150, rear LCA's $150-200 and lowering springs $250 would take care of the rest of the $1k mod budget and you'd have a car that sounds awesome, looks and handles better, and no more axle-hop.

All great ideas, I know someone who is selling a CAI, h pipes and long tube headers for like 650 and someone who would Install flowmaster outlaw exhuast for 410. This puts me slightly over budget but its a great combo. Only problem is now I would need a tune

Cat Back and tune...maybe stretch your budget to include a CAI if you look for used parts.

sounds like a great deal. beware of the flowmaster outlaws, they are meant to sound aggressive. combined with an h-pipe and headers, your mustang will sound like a mix between an 18 wheeler and a posse of military helicopters. just fyi.

I have a set of the heart throbs and its louder than my kenworth, its louder than my harley... it is just extremely loud

but I love the sound

I spent 300 for them and they fit perfect

The outlaws will give you attention, that's for sure, and not all of it the good kind. Best bet I think is the GT500's, they sound better than everything else and they're much cheaper than the borlas. It also leaves a lot more $$$ for other things.

$1000 isn't enough. Leave your car stock and spend that grand on hookers and blow. Economy is rough these days.

Another (excellent) option is spend it on a couple track days for some real fun and driver improvement
