- Plan is for me to hook up my SCT, and laptop, with LiveLink and set up with the configuration I already have from JDM.
- The dyno shop will hook up everything else which includes engine rpm (through the spark plug/coil - - btw, this was NEVER done in my last dyno. I can't trust that previous accuracy.) and manifold pressure.
- Record data after the 1st run, making sure all is well and AFR's are between 11 and 11.9. Send data to JDM on the fly.
- Proceed with 2nd and 3rd runs when allowed.
- Cry (again) if #'s are too low.

What y'all think? Good plan?
any reason for the data logging?

The only true datalogging at WOT I've done for JDM Engineering is WOT at 3rd gear. Beyond that would have been impossible on the street.

So on the dyno, I can go WOT in 5th, and get a true/clear picture of AFR's. This is where JDM will look at the data and optimize my tune 100% (if necessary) and perfect it. Squeezing out more power if possible, within safe/reasonable/conservative bounds. My guess is that the tweaks, if any, will be VERY minor.

More than likely clean his car since he drove to the dyno.

Actually no. I'm pretty pissed off. Well, I guess not too bad. Bottom line, JDM and I laughed, because we essentially used their dyno and rollers to verify that my AFR's were perfect and spot on at 11.4 throughout the whole run, and that was verified with my SCT and livelink data.

The BAD news is that, I once again WASTED my time with a dyno place that has, in our opinion, set everything up wrong again. Heat soaked again, apparently I'm supposed to be about 2 hours cooled down...dyno guy said no, let's run right away. Ok. Wonderful. Then also, the loading on the rollers was all messed up, not sure if weight was taken into account etc etc... It was a mess. Numbers said I was at 438 whp and 380ish torque. I seriously LAUGHED. I'm 50whp less than what I was the LAST time. Lol. Seriously, what a f'ing waste of time.

FYI, data shows I was at 12 for spark, so timing was already being pulled BEFORE the run even started so engine was already too hot.

That's the problem with living here in Timbuktu Iowa. No one here knows what the f they are doing, including me. So. F me.

Either way, JDM and I talked and we went through my SCT data, and everything was spot on. The dyno hp and tq, are useless and can't rely on it.

Let's see... Stock coyote motor, with 9lbs of boost, intake, AND tune, and putting down 440whp? Ummmm ok. While the rest of the world is at 525-560whp with the EXACT same setup? Ummmm ok.

Edit: I'm done dynoing around here. I end up wasting my time and money with places that don't know how to set things up. On top of that, no one here even has a Dynojet. As long as my AFR and other parameters are spot on, I'm good.

Yikes sorry to hear that, yes you are dyno cursed!!! Just wait until your going to the "big city" and find a dynojet dyno for bragging rights. I guess I'm spoiled I have multiple good dyno jet operators all within 20 miles of my place.

Drive it to Karl's Performance in Ankeny. They know what they are doing.

You seriously need to consider some cooling mods. I could tell you exactly what to get for the GT500 but not sure on the GT.

Thanks guys. It is what it is.

That's just it. My car feels wayyy stronger and more responsive than when I had the stock magnuson kit installed.

Meaning, now, I have a smaller pulley for 9lbs of boost versus 6.5-7 lbs, I have a CAI for more air, and of course the "secret sauce" from JDM, which, we verified that the timing, trims, and fuel, were SPOT on...verified by both the "tuning" shop yesterday, JDM themselves, and of course me.

So when I was dyno'd "wrong" last time, I was at 470whp, which already is wrong. I should have been at over 500whp. Now yesterday comes along and I'm at 440whp. Ummmmmm. It's utterly laughable. Dyno cursed indeed.

Lol mark. Good ole Iowa. Pathetic state as it is. I'm rotting away here. Once the kids get off on their own, I'm outta here.

Thanks Sean, but it will have to wait. I'm done pouring money into dynos. As I mentioned, the real "purpose"of the dyno was to verify that my tune was safe and spot on, which we did. So, at least I'm happy about that.

However, if someone asks me how much hp I'm putting down? I'll smack em in the face before I answer. Hahahahaha. Kidding. I'll just tell em 400 whp. See what they say.

If you are looking a shop with Dynojet, I Googled Dynojet/Iowa and came up with a shop in Waterloo. Not far away from you. I haven't verified that info and have no first hand experience with that shop. FWIW

you have too much WAX on that car adding a significant amount of weight! and maybe too much tire dressing, causing the tires to slip on the rollers

sounds reasonable to me

Man, that sucks Burton. I would be pissed off too. BAD.
But, as long as the car feels more stronger and pulls harder, than you should be good to go. It just sucks that you look forward to getting your dyno'ed and the morons working there, don't have a clue how to set-up their own dyno. What a ****ing mess. What a waste of time and money.
What would happen if someone was pushing well above the 600 RWHP mark and putting their engine in danger, when those goons tell them that it reads only 500 RWHP?!?! That's not good at all.
Good luck Burton.

That's what I forgot to mention in my earlier post, just be happy you walked away from both bad dyno experiences without any damage to the drive train As bad as it was it could have been worse.
