Happy for you, congratulations.

I feel bad for the people who've ordered in January/Feb. and STILL have no VIN.

Haet. >_>

Nah, I kid. Congrats! Did they give an ETA? I expect with that kind of speediness you'll be driving it by week 4 of the wait.

That's Fast. Is your Dealer Big or Small?

I placed my order 04Feb2010 and I finally went to another dealer and ordered again yesterday. But mine is a Shelby. I hope I get a VIN quickly like you.

Small. Like really small.

The V6 I had on order for over a month and I got nothing, but it was retail allocation. The V8 I went to a smaller deal closer and did retail order verification.

That might be the way to do it then. It's just a shame most dealers seemingly won't go through that process.

Mine is from a very small dealer as well. I sure hope I have some luck this time around. My DORA came today. Dealer said they should know more in two weeks.

My salesman said it's a good thing I talked the manager into doing retail order verification, because retail allocation could take my car 3-4 months to arrive. Didn't think I'd get a VIN/build date in TWO DAYS!

Congrats jokerstars. That's REALLY good news. Insane that the V6 was such a hassle and then you change to the 5.0 and BAM... there you go.

Cool beans.

So, it sounds like my initial suspicion was right. The problem with the v6 was dealer related. I'm glad everything seems to be on the right path now!

Great....enjoy. I have a VIN for the past 2 weeks and a build date the week of 5/17 and an ETA of 5/22. No window sticker yet! Now I know that ETA just can't happen unless the plant manager personally drives it to Pa. As long as it comes by July 7th so my rebate coupon doesn't expire.

What dealership did you end up using?

Battlefield Ford in Manassas. I was going to order from Tysons however I thought that the Manassas dealer would get it faster since they are smaller. Guess I was wrong

I've bought 2 cars from Battlefiield in Manassas. Both off the lot. They seemed like a nice "down home" dealership back when I bought. My general experience with them now is that they've gone WAY downhill over the last 5 years or so. I stopped considering them after my last visit and I couldn't even find a sales person to deal with. Their inventory always seems "cookie cutter" mostly appealing to the masses and a very limited selection.

That's also the same dealership service department that tried to tell me a quart of oil every 900 miles was "normal." (Eventually they conceded and fixed the KNOWN problem under warranty.)

I did just find a Kona Blue V6 with Stone interior at Battlefield of Culpeper though... might go down and take a look at it this weekend.

That dealership must be REALLY small, cause Tysons Corner is pretty **** small. Especially compared to Koons Chevy in Tysons. Place is frigging humongous. Like 50 vettes lying around.

So you're getting a V8 instead of V6? Smart move. I hate your avatar BTW.

I actually decided on this dealership because of the "down home" feel of the place; the inside reminds me of a 70's highschool gym. The sales people have been fine, it just seems like they don't do too many customer orders since I'm still the only one to order a 2011 GT from them. I just hope they don't jerk me around later
