Hey Jeff. I got an x-plan pin in April, and I probably won't be ready to purchase my 2011 5.0 until the late summer at the earliest. You said that the pins are good for a year, can they be renewed or extended? Thanks for all your help Jeff!

GUYS . . . . . since you are all my forum friends . . . .. I can give you an X-plan pin . . . . . I am an ex-ford employee with life time A-plan (for me) and X-plan for friends . . . . .. it takes me 1 minute on-line to spit out a PIN . .. . .all I need is your last 4 of your ss and address. Keep in mind, dealers are NOT obligated to give me A-plan (or X plan to you) prices . .. . . .When I was in the market for my 05 GT, a dealer salesman whom I bought 3 previous Fords (at Aplan) would only give me Aplan+$3000 for an 05 GT . . . .. needless to say, I told him to take a hike . . . .. . I waited 12 months to FINALLY find a dealer who gave me straight Aplan on my current 05 GT.. . . .. . . I am pretty such in this economic climate, all dealers SHOULD give you X-plan prices . . . .. . . FYI . . .. DEALERS CAN, and should, give you all the factory rebates with the xplan price . . . . .sure there will be some guys who will claim they cant (dont believe them) . . . .. . . FYI X-plan price is right on the invoice bottom (ask to see it).

Hey Dennis, look at me. I bought Ford stock years ago, when it was around $8 or so, and it went up to $16 then dropped and dropped and dropped! I kept with it and now its over $11 a share and I'm finally making some money back on it!!!

I'm never that lucky with stock. Whatever I buy always drops and doesn't recover anytime soon! It's good that yours did. I still kick myself for not buying when it was in the $2 range, but layoffs were coming up and the unstable market, I passed. 1000 extra shares would have helped nicely towards my '11 down payment. Sigh...

Hey Jeff, i must have asked before, but maybe you got lost on all those questions you get asked all the time about the upcoming '11 Mustang. But, from experience, do you think it is worth buying from you as oppose to buying it here in Canada ? I don't mind driving 8 hours to get it. I'd have to check on my side duties, taxes, etc. Thanks

It will cost you at most 1000$ for the airfare, RIV fee, and to get the daytime running lights. You'll pay the 100$ A/C tax and GST/HST at the border, and the PST when you register the car. The plus is you get to spend some time with your ride before having to return to the reality of life. Well, well worth it for much less than a 10k difference in price.
Have you compared the 'build and price it' between Ford.ca and Ford.com?
Also, the base models in the US have a lot less standard features, which means you only pay for the options you want.
In my case, I picked up my 2007 with 5k miles in July '08. Car was/is like new. I saved 13 000$ off of a really good quote I got from Brault for a new car with the same options.

Working from MSRP.
Ford.com
2010 Shelby coupe, Manual, electronics package, and cover. 50145$ US.
Ford.ca
60750$ + 580$ for the cover = 61330$ CAD
Today's exchange rate is .9622, which puts the US price at 52115$ CAD.
That's a 10400$ difference after tax.

Seems interesting, thx for the info !!... I already left a 500$ deposit on a 2011 GT500, but for 10k difference, as I say... it is tempting to go south... even losing 500$ is no big deal to save 10k !!
Hey Jeff ... let me know once you get an idea of US pricing on 2011 GT500 coupe, I am a buyer... just have to figure out if it will be in CAN or USA.

Not in my case. Ford is honouring the warranties for US cars coming North. This could always change between now and the summer though.

Hey bud, I'll be happy to order you the car you want, built to your EXACT specifications. You just have to do a little research in regards to what is needed to be converted for Canadian driving specs (lights, etc). The drive isn't bad at all. It would be a great roadtrip. When I get the order guide (hopefully in less than a week), I'll shoot you a PM. When the time is good, give me a call and we can chat a little.

Hey Rick, as soon as the GT500 guide and pricing comes out, I'll give you a heads up. I had taken a deposit on one, but the fellow had to cancel due to other things, but if your interested I should be able to get a few cars for 2011. I know I'm already talking to a fellow forum member about one too.
