what is the issue with the control arms? How can it be detected?
This past weekend i drove the car alot and it seems to have alot of wheel hop under good acceleration. is that due to the control arms? it was getting irritating.

Nope. Problem is they squeak/squeal - nothing to do with wheel hop, which is in the rear of the car anyway and these are the front control arms.

Clevor, the short answer is "no". Not all cars had these problems depending on the build date, and the vehicle will have to exhibit the defect before they will replace anything. The pony projectors on my '13 went bad fairly quick. It's my understanding Ford has fixed the problem. I'll find out soon as I'm having mine replaced again tomorrow. As far as the LCA's, that problem cropped up at around 5000 miles on mine. I waited until Ford had the fix (adding a heat shield) before I had them replaced. It's been 6000 miles since they were replaced, and knock wood the problem hasn't returned.
Hopefully your's won't have either problem. Good luck.

I've been lucky with my '11 with 13K miles. Perhaps mainly because of the low mileage. The only thing I've had break is the cable or rather string that operates the sun shade for the glass roof. Actually I think it was broken by a ham fisted friend but I can't prove it. The left rear side of the drivers lower seat is showing some wear and discoloration. I'm beginning to hear some noise that sounds like it's coming from the shock tower. Aside from that she has been pretty good.

2011 GT MT82:
- 20,000 miles: Transmission Replaced, Input shaft bearing was failing sending metal throughout and wearing multiple components. Symptom was whining noise from transmission.
- 29,000 miles: traded in for a 2012 GT Auto
2012 GT Auto:
- 4000 miles: Transmission made a low growl when put in any gear. Ford replaced transmission pump and converter. Noise persisted, though about 1/2 as loud.
- 27,000 miles: traded in for a 2014 GT Auto
2014 GT Auto:
- 800 miles: sold factory 19" wheels and bought some barely used Brembo wheels/tires
- 13,000 miles: Upgraded to 14" Brembo brakes (Ford Racing m-2300-s kit)
- 27,000 miles: Replaced Pirelli P-Zero tires with Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3.
Outside of the two major one-time mechanical issues from the transmissions on the 2011/12, none of these three cars had and real issues. All three of them have had excessively worn looking seating by 15,000 miles.

Posted the details here: "MT-82 6th gear issue." I think our car lost the synchro on 6th gear last night totally out of the blue.
Oh well, stuff happens. It is going in Monday morning, originally for the scheduled service, but I added this issue to the appointment details. Sadly this is our only car right now and our dealer is an hour away. Just started not liking 6th gear last night on the way to work (still at work on a break).

Just an update, but we did lose the 6th gear synchronizer. Now I have to suffer with a Dodge Charger while the dealer has to R&R the MT-82, and try and figure out what is going on with the synchro.

I'm sure with that being that close, just talk to your dealer and they "should" be able to fit that in your warranty.

Already called and they said we could bring it in, but they're not going to guarantee it'll be under warranty.. basically they're trying to get the car in there so they can steal more $$$$ from me.
To top it off, yesterday the window on my 1 yr old Raptor just stopped working... so I'm going to have to deal with those crooks anyway.

I bought my 2011 v6 Premium Stang over a year ago and I've had the yellow wrench light come on so many times and so many different reasons for it. I think this is my 1st and last Ford. I tried to buy American but the product sucks money *****! It just hasn't been very reliable.
My question is for the Ford rep: will my local dealer replace the control arms and fix the Pony Projector if neither has gone out yet??? I know it's not like it's a recall, however I bet I will get this response:
1. Have no idea what you are talking about.
2. No, it has to fail first before we do the upgrade.
I have a 2013 GT Premium with so low miles, none of these have failed yet. Obviously, I would like to take the car in and have it dealt with beforehand.
I'm pretty sure Ford wants to save money and only replace if they go bad. But what if the failure rate is near 100%? What's wrong with taking it in now?

But then again, I’m here for you! You’ll be just fine.

Final Update (6th Gear Synchro in the MT-82): Just picked up the Mustang and it is going into 6th gear again, now it seems like it is "notchier" on gears 1-3, but that sounds typical for the MT-82; despite never having the issue before.
Other than that, the car seems fine and I am glad to have it back!
