I hear ya.

But I am worried about the '15s and beyond. Shape? Powertrain?

That has me worried. I sure hope they stick with what makes a Mustang a MUSTANG.

I'd settle for a 2013 Boss on A plan too.

Because I need a few more months of convincing my wife and getting her on board 100%. She's right at that 75% mark--we're getting close.

A test drive should convince her!

Steve... just curious, what's the scoop with your latest? Are you planning to trade in your 11 for a 13???? I know you were teetering before. My vote, stay an ownah of a konah (the "h" is there for effect...lol)

ahhh I remember this. We go through this EVERY time we buy a car. Our latest, Tori/TSX, we weren't gonna get. I got tired of always being the one to push buying a new car. So after we test drove it, etc... I stopped. I told her we are NOT buying another car unless she was 100% or better, on board with it. Lo and Behold, she tells me one day, "Honey, I really loved the seats in the TSX. Let's go with that one. I am ready." After that, we bought it.... and the whole process was more enjoyable.

Of a non-mustang car (like what we did for TSX, yes). For my Mustang tho, when I gave her a ride in a 5.0 on the lot, she was indifferent (wife cares nothing about power or my toy cars in general...lol). But she was smart this time, she said, "Honey, you can pick whatever one you want." She felt guilty for suggesting the pearl white 370Z before Marilyn, mostly because it was "on the lot" already, and we got a killer deal on it.... I never got attached to that car. It was the color mostly. She vowed to never do that again. So THIS time around, I bought EXACTLY WHAT I WANTED. Built from the ground up, at Ford, ONLY for me.... That was the best day of my Car-life. The day I took her home. I remember it like yesterday.

Yes, come spring I will be getting into a 2014. GT premium with Recaros, Track Pack, Electronics Package, and spoiler delete. Swapping most of the mods over. There's a reason, just can't go into it on here.

If for some reason there were still 2013 Bosses sitting and they offered A plan on one, I'd do that instead. Race Red with the Recaro/Torsen package please.

So there's a secret reason why you're jumping on a '14 rather than waiting for a '15?

I think he meant versus going with a 13. Originally, he was going to spring for a 13... Correct me if I'm wrong Steve.

I think Steve knows something we don't . I'm keeping my 2011, but me and my wife are going to trade her Honda Accord for a 2015 Mustang . If for some reason the 2015's don't look very good we'll buy a 2014.

I was seriously considering a '13 or '14 at one point. I don't want to buy one with winter approaching, so I'm waiting til spring to put an order in. Looks like the '13s and '14s are identical, so I'm not missing anything from one year to the next.

And the appearance package on the '14 GT might make for a bit of a flourish for the S197's final year.

Me? I'd love a '14 Ingot Silver GT/CS, 6 speed auto, matt black SuperSnake stripes, lowered on matt black 20" Bullits (kind of the mirror image of my '05......which I wouldn't want to get rid of).

Then I'd be getting my order in for a '15 GT.

I'm with you on this. I bought the 2011 because I liked the retro look. All rumors state that the designers will make changes, but they say it will still be noticed as a Mustang.

If not, then I keep the 2011. It's that simple for me.

The 2013 was a no brainer for me. 1st year they came out with another Green since 2006, They upgraded the look to match the GT 500 front and made the V6 and GT's the same except the engine, and has a 6 speed that my 06 did not.. I am not sure if I will like the 15. If I do i am sure the 16, 17 will be similar. So I will get Mustang GT then as a weekend fun/show car.

So I was looking up 2013 parts and found this under 2013>>Ford>>Mustang>>Exterior Trim>>Accessories>>Body Dress Up Kits - Rear Accessory. It looks like the Boss bumper extension. It could also be part of the 2014 GT & V6 Appearance Packages. I don't currently have access to the full part number but the Boss extension is listed with a $267.25 MSRP and the accessory version shows $150.00.

Because if he orders and buys a 13, its a year old and worth less.
If your gonna order one get a 2014
Side by side a new 13 and 14, 14 is already worth more. Especially since by the time you get your 13 , 14s will be on the lots not much later.

Hi all,

I've got a dilemma of sorts so I figured I'd ask for advice here (seems like the right thread). I currently have a 2013 Gotta Have It Green GT on order (first Mustang, first Ford, first American car) and just got my VIN and build date yesterday - December 3, 2012. This is about a month later than my dealer estimated, so they are looking for one like mine that they can ship here from somewhere else in the US. After posting this on another forum, someone mentioned the 2014, which I've heard nothing about until then. Looking around, I found that all the rumors lead back here, so I figured this is the best place to ask (the other forum didn't give me any worthwhile tips at all).

With all the speculation on the 2014s out there I'm starting to consider switching my order in November. That IS something worth waiting an extra month or two for. The problem is that there is a chance, small as it may be, that my dealer finds me a car and says they can have it here in a week. So basically I want to know how certain you guys are that ordering starts in November? And whether or not I should tell my dealer to call off the search.

Oh... One more thing to note, GHIGreen is a must. If the 2014 won't have the color, then I'm sticking with my 2013 order thank you very much.

Thanks,

Mike

Mike,

GHIG is still being offered for the '14 model year. Ordering for the '14's does start in less than a month. However, '14 production does not start for 3-4 months from now, so if you order a '14 you won't get it until March or April. The '13 you have ordered will arrive 2-3 months sooner than a '14. The '13 and '14 are the same car, so I'd say wait for your '13 to arrive.
