Even as a upgrade....no
That said I would bet my salary that it woulndt happen. Only 1-2% of the buyers would only care about that and most of the public have no clue what Forged internals are.

No Boss 302 for 2014. Chevrolet has just released the LE1 Camaro starting at 37k. The real killer is the LE1 is not a limited edition model. Its just a option on top of the SS. On top of that Chevy is claiming the LE1 is a quicker road course car than the standard Boss 302.
I can't believe that Ford isn't going to respond to this with something like a Mach 1.

2014MY is going to be quiet. Think of it as the calm before the storm. The S197 has a hell of a sendoff with the GT500, the success of the Boss 302 (kudos to keeping it exclusive and limiting it to a 2 year run), and offering a GT that still gets the job done and a host of tech that others are still trying to catch up to.

Per Ford's 13/14 MY Changeover Timing Report, 10/26/12 is the last day for '13 Mustang orders to be input nationwide (actually, 10/24/12 is the last day of that week that orders can really be input at the store level).
However, many dealers will have already used up their final month's worth of allocation for Mustangs before then, so if you wait until the last week you might out of luck. Get your order in by the end of September to really ensure that you actually get your car.

Dates have stayed firm:
- 2013's: last day to order a 2013 Mustang is 10/24/12 (it says 10/26/12 on the latest memo, but the 24th is the real cutoff - long story that doesn't matter). 2013 Mustangs will be built through 01/11/13.
- 2014's: 11/12/12 is the first day you can order a 2014 Mustang. Scheduling starts on 12/06/12 with Job 1 still TBD (probably mid to late January).

Does that hold true for the GT500's?

GT500's are a different animal and typically start production later than the V6/GT's in any given year. However, the '14's are just a carryover model, so there shouldn't be much delay, but I can't confirm that yet. If you're referring to the '13's, though, many dealers have already received all of their allocation for the model year and are done ordering '13 GT500's.

1999: GT had a 35th anniversary special...it was AWESOME with distinct pieces, stripes, and interior
2004: GT and V6 had a special anniversary package in a different color with special colored wheels, a few different items inside and out and a decal pkg
2009: 45th anniversary...I think there was badge? kinda lame.
2014: I bet they are going to go bigger and better with this...even though we are on a downward slide....

I'm hoping the appearance package is Boss front and rear fascia set. It'd be nice to get the different rear fascia without buying all of the parts, because it isn't cheap and leaves you with a spare set of bumpers.

My suggestion is for you to order a '13 Mustang to your liking, but make sure your deposit (if any) is refundable. Once the '14 info comes out, you can then cancel your '13 order if the '14 looks better to you.

We probably won't know what the '14 Appearance Packages are until mid-November when the '14 Mustang Order Guide is released.

The most important info was in the first post, by Brian:
Okay, so we all know that 2014 will be a carryover of the 2013's, but what will be different? I've done a little digging into the 2014 Mustang order banks to see what's different.
Colors: Ruby Red (RR) replaces Red Candy (RZ). Oxford White (YZ) replaces Performance White (HP).
Base V6 100A & 101A: New option called "V6 Appearance Package," option code 541.
Premium V6 200A, Pony Package 202A, and MCA Edition 203A: No changes that I can find.
Premium V6 201A: Hood Stripe, option code 471.
Base GT 300A & 301A: New option called "GT Appearance Package," option code 542.
Premium GT 400A & 401A: No changes that I can find.
GT/CS 402A: Colors limited to Deep Impact Blue, Race Red, Black, Sterling Gray, Ingot Silver, and Oxford White.
Boss 302 500A & Laguna Seca 501A: Missing, so it appears to be true that the Boss 302 was a 2 year run only ('12 & '13).
Shelby GT500: Matte Black stripes replaced by Gloss Black stripes.
That's it for now, but I'm sure we'll get more info in the next few months. Ford shows the 2014 Order Banks opening on November 12, 2012 with 2014 scheduling to start on December 6, 2012. 2013 Mustang production ends on January 11, 2013 with 2014 production to begin shortly thereafter.
