I've been ordering 2012 Mustangs for several weeks now for our dealership. Production is supposed to start in about 6 weeks, so I'd guess that 2012's will start arriving at dealers in early March.

This is what I recieved in an email:
Well taking orders and ordering one are alittle different, but until Ford send out the order guide not much we can do but take a deposit and still not order it untill Ford will let us. But getting you a GT won't be any problem when you are ready just let me know what you want on it and I'll be happy to get it for you.
James
Yall think I should go ahead and go talk with the dealer?

Take a look at the Recaro seats for the Boss 302 Leguna Seca edition to see what those GT500 seats will look like. The difference, of course, will be the emblem that is embroidered in the seat.

While ordering when something is newer than new, there are always obstacles that are to be met and overcome. HOWEVER, the MY2012 was released 11/19 to ALL Dealerships, and Pricing shortly followed. (note the "ed" --- they have it) IMHO....find an informed Dealership!!

FIVEOHBRIAN,
If i posted this, what would you say to it?
I talked to my dealer today. He said that he had good news and bad news. Bad news was that he did not have his allotment to order a 2011 gt premium, so my car was not ordered. He did also tell me that I am the first order for the 2012's, which he is anticipating a feb/march delivery. He said the price increase was about $500 from the 11's to the 12"s, but he will give me 2011 pricing. (so basically he's taking our negotiated price for the 2011 and applying it to the 2012. he said he was good with getting rid of the $500 increase for the newer model.
What this means in theory is i'll be getting a 2012 for the price of the 2011.
My concern was the incentives for the 2011, and the fact that i'll be loosing them cause they wont be there for the 2012's. Again, he said that i would get the 2011 incentives.??? really?? ok, now my dealer is a friend, and i will believe all of this when i see it, but i have never been wronged by this guy before. Crossing my fingers and hoping it all happens like i was told. As far as the delivery date goes, i was looking at Jan delivery with the 2011 when the order was suppose to go in, but Feb/March would be better for me, with all the snow and all.

Ford will not honor 2011 rebates on 2012's, and no 2012 rebates have been announced yet for Mustang. Ford will keep the rebates higher on the 2011's the clear them out while offering just minimal rebates (if any) on the 2012's when they start arriving. 2012 Mustang rebates will eventually grow during the course of the model year, but again, your dealer cannot give you the 2011 incentives on the 2012 (unless he is paying it out of his own pocket).
Good luck!

As Ltngdrvr pointed out above, you can buy from the dealership I work for (or any other dealer nationwide that might offer a great deal) and the car can be drop-shipped to a dealer near you if they're willing to do a "courtesy delivery." Most dealers charge several hundred dollars to do so, so that might make buying long distance less attractive.

It has been quiet for a while... Any news or pictures yet for the 2012?
I know they usually reveal at an Auto show, does anyone know when the 2012 GT500 will be unvealed? With the Boss 302 already out and orders placed, they cant wait too much longer for the GT500. I know that not much has changed, but would be nice to see what the new options look like.
