Hi Al
No I don't think the sync was programmed. I bought it from ebay.
Im not to familiar with this whole go to ford for programming. Since my car is 2nd hand do I go to a ford dealer and ask if they can? Id would probably have to give them a VIN number to a mustang that already has sync in it.

Btw the antenna u bought is it 10e893-a or 10e893-b?
Thanks

I would check and see if the dealer can program the Sync and see what they have to do to program the Sync to your radio. Also as a information point contact Brad at 4D-Tech.com and see what he can do for you.
BTW I just pulled the harness out of my wheel and verified the harness for capacitance, checked out good. However, the colors corresponding are wrong for my gt500 wheel. The pairs are purple & Green and blue and yellow. I tested on the wheel on the ohm meter and the buttons. I have to rewire my molex connector to corresespond to the J#1 plug. Purple and green to audio and blue and yellow to bluetooth. Are we having fun yet? LOL

I Decided I had better check in on this thread just in case of problems. I'm out of state right now, so I won't be on very often. Here is a link, where I got the idea (I talked about this in the early part of the write up), to use an already programmed module for my SYNC kit install. I had a bit of a problem with my SYNC module (new one from kit) at first, but I had an identical module from an 09 Fusion (in my box of electronic goodies), which had SYNC so I tried it. It cleared up my part-time microphone problems. If I hadn't had it, it would be been worth the $50 or so at a wrecking yard to get one and to have it work, considering my local dealers can't or won't do the modifications or try to program a used ACM. I put the used module in and it cleared up my microphone problems and some static I was hearing, but couldn't figure where it came from. I'm glad I keep stuff like that.

I would say, if you have access to a matching module, to maybe go that route. If it comes from a car with the options you want, then they are already programmed to work. They can have more options, just not less that whatever your radio needs. I've been really lucky with my parts ordering and breaking them down to fitment in my Mustang. I've done autoparts for 40 years, so I'm very careful and concise on what I need, myself, for my projects. Living in Alaska, it costs too much to return parts, so we make **** sure to get it right the first time. Especially with electrical, as most, if not all businesses, won't take those parts back. I don't blame them, but it can get costly if you make a mistake.

I knew going in what I would most likely need, and still found an item or two I hadn't counted on. I knew I would need the radio navigation head, SYNC kit, a used programmed module, Boss or GT strg wheel (2010-13), 2 WPT1242 connectors, terminals for the ACM, GPS antenna for Pioneer head, and patience.

Once I got all that together, I saw I also needed the left side switch (SW6712). Mine came with the "D" pad for the TracPac option (SW6913), since it came from a 2013 Boss. I only gave $100 for the steering wheel, and used the right side switches for with my Shaker 500 for a few months. When I went to navigation, I had to switch the right switch out. I found I needed a SW6716 switch for the right side of the steering wheel. Mine came with the SW6714 for the Shaker 500 head. Right now, I have a couple extra switches lying around, as you can imagine. lol

I have a serial number of an 09 Mustang that had Navigation, SYNC if you could get the data for it and also the serial of an 11, set up the same way. If you can get the build data from that and compare the two, set up the correct line for audio controls, you should be good to go. I don't have them here, but I think I can dig them up in a day or so if you need or can use them. Later

Good Morning AK,

When you have a chance I would like the vin on the 2009 Mustang with sync. I use to be able to obtain the asbuilt data printout from ford. When I removed the shaker500 and installed the navigation radio it gave me the configuration error. I later obtained the acm code for a 2009 mustang with nav and changed the the configuration with the ids/vcm.
That cleared the config. error.
I will be making changes on my molex connector to the new pairs today.

Regards,Al

Hi Al,
Funny you should mention Brad. I am currently speaking with him. Ill be sending in my unit along with the SYNC unit.

I too would like the VIN of that 09. I dont think giving my 07 VIN number would be beneficial. I would like all the features.
I will also google for a proper VIN.
BTW if I use a different VIN then mine, would that mess anything up?

Thanks AK,

When I get my radio 100% operational, I will experiment with 2010 ACM code.
I apparently have a microphone problem.

AK

When you get back home maybe you can get a vin off a 2010 mustang with Nav and sync.
The 2010 SVT you posted was for a shaker500. I will keep an I open also for one.

Thanks AL

Data--that was for the electronics package (navi * sync ) and should not be for the shaker 500. I double checked the serial and it says electronics package, 2195, so that is the navigation system. Why did you say it was for the 500? I shouldn't even be on here. The ol' lady is gonna kill me if she sees me online. lol

Ok found some more Vin numbers:

2008 GT Convertible: 1ZVHT85H585153248
2007 GT Convertible: 1ZVFT85H875308011
2008 Ford Mustang GT PREMIUM W/NAVIGATION 1ZVHT82H085159544

Also found this site. It talks about putting in some kind of code.
to get this straight using your instructions above, I should be able to take it to the dealer and have them enter the following:

ACM*****727-01-01*****0148*****DC7B*****E6B6***************Inst
ACM*****727-01-02*****2040*****91***************
ACM*****727-02-01*****1748***************
Anyone know what they are taking about?

This is what Data and I are discussing right now. That is the as built ACM information that the radio needs to operate correctly. This is what the guys at the radio shops input into your radio when they reprogram the heads. Data has a programmer module, which can input this info into the radio to alleviate the problems. By using the 2010 or 2011 info, with the info from the 09 or 08, he can input the info to make sure the radio controls and whatever he wants is usable with the head. It's a win win for us. Once he comes up with a set code, he can pass it on to those who have a reader/input module, and then other's can reset their heads, or have someone do it, with the codes.

Data could you post your screens of your Nav plz
Bill Thanks for the clarification. This sounds really interesting. I think this is something I would have to tell 4dtech to use when they program my Nav unit.

I just shipped the radio and Sync kit back to Brad at 4D-Tech. I did get all my buttons working but, the microphone is dead.
The ACM code you posted is slightly different from my ACM code. On 727.01.01 I have 848 the rest are the same. Mine was taken from a 2009 mustant with navigation. That is what cleared the config. error. We need the ACM information from a 2010 with nav and sync. I think that was the first year that sync was installed on the mustangs at the factory. The others Sync units were installed at the dealers. Although I would like to see
the ACM codes on those.

I just downloaded the asbuilt data from the 2010 Shelby. (WOW) 23 lines of code for the ACM. I'm not sure if our ECM can handle that many lines of code.
When I reinstall my radio I will my ids and see what it handle.

I can program the ECM with the Ford IDS/VCM but, I have not been able to find a program module for the ACM. Ford dealers do not program the ACM heads.

Do you mean the program its talked about in that pdf?
I think it's called IDS Tool. Or do you mean the PTS application?

The IDS/VCM tool is what the dealers use for diagnostic and programming. I purchased one several years back to handle my 2009. The IDS/VCM will not program the radio, you need another programmer to change the settings. However the dealer can manually change the ECM settings for your vehicle i.e. the ACM codes.
I have not been able find out what programming tool techs use to change the settings on the ACM.

Check out the attachment in the first post here:
https://themustangsource.com/f700/20...c-news-469573/

In the PDF near the bottom it talks about programing the AMC. Isnt that it? Or maybe you could ask Brad what programs he uses?

Also I found a site that you can program to use your Nav in Motion here:
http://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/80...otion-use.html

Could you test it? I tried myself, but I do not have GPS antenna yet so it doesnt seem to work. I get stuck at step 4.
