Toxicgrafix.com worked with me on this
Gents,
I foun a guy that worked with me extensively on finding the right design for my steering wheel emblem and rear faux gas cap. His name is Tim from www.toxicgrafix.com Attached are some photos of different designs we were working and some of the test fits. He has every color of vinyl and more than willing to work with me. As a side note since there was a texture on the steering wheel that was easily removed using double sided tape. These photos are to give you guys of toxics quality of work. Contact them at....sales@toxicgrafix.com
Cheers!

The guys from toxic decals says to use a thin layer of lexan to cover the steering wheel emblem and put their decal over it.
They are doing mine, I need to go to a hobby store and find the lexan.
I will keep you all posted.

Here is the one for the steering wheel.

He had to tone down the detail to make it work in the limited space.

My name is Tim and I am from Toxicgrafix.com. One of my customers gave me this link and suggested that I post some info about my company. I have been in the vinyl graphics biz for years making signs for retail stores. Pretty boring stuff. I have hit a point where now I want to make custom and different designs. The Mustang guys have been a good source for that so far. I just did some decals for traffic142. Let me know if I can be of any service to you. I can do full custom designs or you can pick a design off of my website. My prices are very reasonable.
Here is the link to the Mustang stuff on my site

Emblem installed
I got it installed. Used a lexan sheet and cut a circle to fit over the raised emblem (Tribar). I applied the black background, problem was I forgot to do the wet method. Got a few pox's. I applied the cobra emblem next and then coated the back side with clear silicone sealant (should have used black for this one....live and learn). I applied it and gently pressed it in and then began to clean up the excess that was pushed out with q tips.
I let it dry and began some clean ups with a razor blade and later q tips and a top of a bic ink pen. This pic was taken after some clean up was done.

Tim did a good job. As for the design, it was actually used on a 1966 GT 350 steering wheel.
What you think?

Ah.
I finally found a pic of the emblem. It was the color scheme that was throwing me off. I KNEW it looked familiar.
Oh, and I LOVE it! I even did a quick chop.
