I did my cabin filter today. Quite easy. I didn't move the wiper up so the vent panel didn't come up too far, but I wiggled the filter out of there. It was dirty. And the guy at one Ford dealer told me he didn't think I had one!

Same deal I got on my first service of my 07 dah don`t they know what they are doing , so I walked back inside after I picked up my car purchased a filter changed it right there in the lot & took the old one back inside & said looky what I found, idyidt`s

What I did was went to a pet store bought a sheet of carbon sheet used to cut your own filters I made one same size as the filter and put it in as well I think it helps keep brake dust and seidel smoke out better

Not a bad idea. Hopefully I'll have time to do this in the next week or so. I'm wont be surprised if the filter is as black as night with all kinds of crap in it.

Thanks to Taco Bill for posting these pics. Excellent work on your part and saved me from the dealeship.
It took me about 15 mins to get at the filter and I sucked out at least three inches of water from the reservoir below the filter. I also removed the stupid clogged up rubber grommet covering the drain hole.
I took some pics if anyone is interested.

I'm curious about that that clogged up rubber grommet, pics/explanation?
Thanks once again to Tacobill for a great writeup, my car has 65k (bought car with 38k)and just replaced my cabin filter and WOW that thing was dirty. Napa has the WIX cabin filters for $20, autozone has STP cabin filters for $10. Anyway, thanks again Tacobizzle!

there are a couple gromets along the fire wall you can get pine needles leaves etc stuck in & plug them up, as well Drivers & passengers door there are two black plastic bumpers , I took mine out and put a piece of cork to act as a bumper as those dumb thing stop stuff from flowing through the door, they just pinch toghether & out they come .

Great write up. 
I wonder if another kind of filter can be used Vs the stock filter. I use a Filtrete hammock filter for our furnace. I always cut the extra filter material off with a scissors. I wonder if the extra could be used. It looks like there would be plenty left to use.
