those with metal rear window louvers
I bought a set of aluminum louvers for my wifes GTCS. I prepped it as they suggested, let the brackets cure for 24 hours(or adhere), then installed the louvers. After about a week, the bracket came unstuck in the upper left corner. I cleaned it off again, used some more 3m tape, let it cure and went on with the louvers. Now almost a week to the day, it has become unstuck again.
I thought I may have the thumbscrews too tight, not letting it have some slack when it got hot in the sun. Well that did not work either.
Need suggestions from you all on how to fix this,
Thanks in advance

I have the Astro Hammond ALuminum louvers on the back. Before installing them I bent and tweaked them so the laid perfectly flat on the rear glass ... it involved slightly bending them all the way down on both sides to give them a slight curve ... just like the back glass. Now when I fasten them down there is 0 pressure being excerted on the mounting tabs.

Blah, don't feel like searching for my old post. Think it was louvers for cheap... Anyway, call Astra, they will send you new brackets that are twice as long. That will do the trick. A bunch of us had the same issue

Raising an old thread. I have the Astro Hammond Aluminum louvers and I am now on my third bracket on the top passenger side. I think mine may need some tweaking since the passenger side it seems to shoot up straight towards that top bracket instead of sitting near the window as it curves towards the roof. When everyone said they tweaked the louvers did they bend them to curve vertically or horizontally and how did you do it without breaking them.
Thanks,
Gary

I put a bend in them vertically. When done they should lay flat on the brackets without any force. The object is try to get a smooth arch in them from top to bottom. Bend a little then install ... see how it fits ... remove ... bend a little then install ... see how it fits ... etc ...

I had an issue with my MRT louvers and I just went to the auto store and bought some epoxy to fix the problem. Where the bracket attached to the window it would keep popping up.
Once I put the epoxy on I havent had an issue since.

I've got the MRT/Visus louvers on mine as well. Installed this Feb. & have not had any issue with the mounting pads as of yet. DD, has seen rain, wind, snow, etc.
MRT also does not have you silicone the edges of the pads. I did let my mount pads set for a day before I hung on the louvers.
