turbo or supercharger?
Decided to finally really start to save for one if the other and im stumped on which one to look for. I want a street boss that can have some good numbers on dyno, but safe cuz its my daily driver and that I don't need forged internals for it not to break ****, can anyone help with some ideas? And no I'm not gonna sell my car for a gt cuz I love my sixxer so please don't open that can of worms lol

That would be my first choice, unless you plan on getting a CDC hood scoop. Most of the responses you'll get though, are just gonna be to get a GT...
As far as not breaking stuff...Any of the available kits will probably put you around GT territory, give or take some, and be relatively safe. But these days, you certainly won't be running the streets with that...

BUT...you can always up the boost, whether it's SC or turbo. You may get more HP with one setup from a kit. But the higher you go, the greater the risk of breaking something. It doesn't really matter if the boost is coming from a SC or turbo. The engine will only take so much.
You just have to find a certain amount of risk that you can live with. AKA: A "safe" level of boost. All of the usual kits may be relatively safe...But the higher the output, the less safe it is. Also keep in mind that a good tune goes a long way...

If you're seriously considering the X-Charger, there's a member on here that has had one since they first came out. His name is...maybe...torch-something. I've been drinking, and can't remember his name. But he's got a really nice, torch red, V6, Vert with a GT500 front bumper and some other mods. You might just search "x-charger" threads, and see if he has any advice for you if he doesn't mind sharing...

Nothing is totally safe but the X-Charger has proven to be one of the safest. I ran mine for 120,000 miles before loosing a piston do to fuel starvation not the X-Charger. I'm currently running a prototype with a large more efficient MP1900 TVS supercharger. So far if puts out incredible power!
The currently available X-Charger Xtreem will give you around 300RWHP for a good 50HP or so more than a stock GT.

LOL...I made the parts myself...
The Vortecs and Prochargers have very little additional power at the low end and are better suited to drag racing than street fun for that basic reason. They both also require considerable more maintenance than an X-Charger. The gear oil in an X-Charger only needs change once every 100,000 miles.
The currently available MP90 based X-Charger is a great kit with a very large following. You may want to check out the MustangCollective site. There are a ton of X-Charger installs over there.
The MP1900 TVS that I am running will match both the Vortec and Porcharger for top end power on the 4.0SOHC with the added benefit of great low end power that the Votec and Procharger lack. If you are interested I could probably hook you up but it will not be a totally off the shelf kit and would require picking up a few things at a few places but it is not any more difficult to install than the current X-Charger Xtreem, which is a pretty easy install.
