Just wondering how much everyones car dealers were trying sell them a 7yr bumper to bumper for? My dealer was asking $1,595 I'm just trying to find out if other people where offered a lower price on a 7yr 75,000 mi.

The first 36K is included so the price is for the second 39,000 and four more years. My biggest question is how much more is it at 35,000 or 35 months. I hate to buy it thinking I'm keeping this car forever and then the best Mustang ever comes off the line. I know its trasferable but not many dealers pay more at trade in for it.

theelebowski,

Is that genuine Ford bumper to bumper or a third party? Be careful some dealers are better than other on disclosing. We are ordering in Feb and haven't talked to our dealer about this, I am very thankfull you posted this question.

Happy New Year

Sites such as http://www.warrantydirect.com/ and http://www.1sourceautowarranty.com/ have better "Wear & Tear" warranties, that cover more than the dealer's warranty.

I just went to the dealer and cancelled my $1,500 warranty, and I feel good about it. I never felt good about the warranty but if I change my mind I have a year after I sign for the car to get the extended warranty. Thanks doulos4JC you helped me make the choice to hold off on the warranty with the websites you posted.
I got the GT premium with the active anti theft, interior upgrade, front seat side airbags for $26,230 uncluding delivery and dealer prep which is $831 above invoice.
It's not fun talking about how much you paid for something but I think I got a good deal. If we let eachother know what we paid maybe we can help future Mustang owners. My deal is also through the military with a $250 early bird rebate so I'm not sure everyone can talk their dealer down this low.

I bought my 05 with 5 year financing and since it is a first year car I bought Ford ESP Extended Warrenty 5 year 60,000 for $1055.00 .It is a Ford warrenty and covers everything except sounds system/audio and safety stuff like air bags. THe warrenty thats covers everything called EXP I think was like $1400+ so Im happy with what I got.

I figure im covered while Im finacing and if I have any real bad problems and Im not totaly satisfied with the results I can always sell it with the warrenty.

the dealer that i bought my gt from is a friend of mine. he gave me a price of 875 for the 5 year 75,000 mile ford bumper to bumper warranty. you need to watch the dealers on extended warrantys because this is were the make great profits. they usually try to hit a 40% mark up on them. the only warranty to buy is a factory and not an aftermarket.

Why is that? I have heard some great stories with aftermarket warranties, I would like to know the bad ones to stay away from.

when it is a factory x-warranty it is real easy for ford to fix it. they are set up for it, they have all of the connections to get things fixed. when it is an aftermarket warranty it is up to the warranty company to fix it. your down time is longer. they will send out an adjuster to look at the warranty claim and his sole job it to figure out how not to pay it. alot of times the aftermarket warrantys will spec for remanufactured parts, make you pay for shop supplies, sales tax, oil. freon and ect. the factory warrantys can usually be bought for the same price and if you do buy an aftermaket warranty make sure that the company is aaa rated. It is not uncommon for a warranty company to go out of business. i seriously dought that ford is going to go chapter 11.

My dealer offered to extend my warranty to 5 years or 60,000 miles for free if I take it to them for all the maintenance scheduled in the owners manual. All I have to do is have the book kept up to date on everything and it will be fixed by them. I think I will take them up on it.
