Tune help

I recently retuned my stang for 89 octane down from 91. My car ran fantastic until I retuned it. Now I have throttle lag, lousey acceleration and the sound of my exhaust is louder. Please help, I have a full tank of 89 and I don't want to ruin my car by running it the way it is now. Thanks

1 Tank of 89 isn't going to kill you. Bear with it, and run 91 or 93 from now on! Figure, there are a hell of alot of people here who run 89 all the time. You'll be alright.

i no longer have the 91 tune, i now have 87,89 and 93. it's hard to find 91 octane here in south florida that's why i retuned it. i'll go with this tank and try the 93 as you suggested and see what happens

I'll be back in that office Monday morning. I'll get those on the move for you. I still have your credit, so I'll simply call you when they're in and let you know the balance! Thanks Rafael!!!

I wish I had the problem of the not finding 91 octane in Tulsa. The highest octane available here is the 91. There is not one station in this area with the 93. The closest one is in Arkansas or Texas.

I have to mix high octane race fuel and 91 to achieve the equiv. of the 93 octane and it's a real PITA! I have no idea why they did away with the 93 octane in this area. A few years back it just dissapeared. Does anyone know of a good octane booster that you could add that wont jack up your fuel system. I have heard that the 104 octane stuff will foul your system.

to be honest, every other octane booster i've heard off eventually fouled up the injectors, and didn't exactly raise the octane level much.
the only half bad product is made by NOS.. that could come in handy if you're stuck with a 93octane tune, run out and only find 91octane pumps around

i'd personally adjust the spark advance for 91 octane and call it a day
