Tire pics for factory 18" bullitt?
I have searched and searched but have not found a pic of anyone who has changed the tire size on the factory 18" bullitt. I am trying to find a pic of a car with staggered tire size (i.e. 255/45 front and 275/40 rear). There are loads of pics with aftermarket bullitts but no stock. Thanks.

Well I think most people who change out the stock 18 bullitts also change out the tires. What I think you're asking is for someone who kept the stock bullitts but changed the tires. If that's the case, I don't know how many people have actually done that.

You will never see a 275 tire on a stock Ford 18" wheel, the tire is too wide for the rim. The widest you can go on a Ford 18" Bullitt is 255. A 275 will need a 9.5" rim width. When changing from a 235 to a 255 tire, the tire is only 3/4" wider.

Problem with widening, which I was considering too, is that the growth in width goes from the hub - inwards. Meaning the wider tire will not go to the edge of the fender lip. The outside of the tire will be recessed like stock, but extend in as far as you have the clearance.

Don't widen the rim, get new wheels, 18x10's for about $800 then you have 2 sets, I don't know the weather conditions are like for you, but for $200 more you will have 2 sets of wheels.
If money is tight, just be happy with 255's on the stock rims.

Who does this? Anyone had any success -- it would be a way to get the big brakes and keep the stock wheels. Info on where this is done would be helpful. Thanks.

Wellllll. Here is one option for you. Run 1" spacers front and back
(be sure to trim the stock wheel stud tips off and clay check). Then widen the rear wheels 1" inboard.
weldcraftwheels.com has done them for a couple people I think.
They quoted me 200 a wheel. I am not sure it is something I personally want to do unless I was supercharged.
A 255-45-18 in a nice sticky compound should make a good improvement as well.
