Just starting to Look for some light weight rims in 17 or 18 inch. Lighter than stock any way. Any ideas? Thanks

Another option is the Godspeed from cruzinconcepts.com, they're quite light, even in the 20" variety.

I have the Steeda 20" Spyders and I didn't weight them , but they were noticeably lighter than the 19" wheels I had on before them ...

How much do you want to spend?
BBS and O.Z. make 17-18 inch rims that are under 18-19lbs.

thanks for the tips Gents. Don't really have a set price range as of yet but I don't think I would want to go much over 270 or so per rim.

I personally like the Enkei RPF1's, they are available in both 17" and 18" sizes for our Mustangs. I had a set of 17x9's for my '01 Bullitt that only weighed 16 lbs each that I now use for autocrossing on my '08 GT. 18" sizes weigh around 18 lbs each depending on width and offset. I also have some RPF1's for my Miata as well (those weigh 9.5 lbs each).

In that price range I would go with Enkei NT03 18x9.5 with a 40mm they weigh in at 19.2lbs each and the rack has them for $285 a piece, not bad for some light weight wheels. I also think they look great on a Mustang.

For road racing you're not going to beat the BBS wheels speced for the 302r program. Rehagen Racing sells them.

Except they are way more (almost 3x) than what the OP wants to spend on wheels. There are lots of "great" options if the budget is unlimited. Trying to keep the total cost under $1100 for a set narrows things down quite a bit.

Well his budget won’t get him into lightweight rims unless he goes for those Enkie NT03’s. Those are the only wheels I have seen that are not pricey.

Hey Glenn, what size tires you wanting to put on there? The 18x8s are pretty small, I believe stock is 18x8.5 (right??), while the GT500 ones are 18x9.5, allowing up to a 285 on them.

American Muscle has several 18x9 replica rims, but don't publish the weights. The GT500, GT4, and FR500 ones should all be somewhat light weight.

Are you planning on going with a BBK as well? That pictures doesn't do that wheel justice// looking for a better one..

Those wheels convex slightly and are 45mm in offset, not a lot of room between the spoke and the caliper. Ask me how I know.:P
