Does our engine have a name?

The only designation I'm aware of has to do more with body type and engine rather than engine alone.

Badges? We don't need no stinking badges! I always thought one of the lamest things Chevy ever did was stamp badges all over their motors. Like their V6's aren't 3.1 ,3.4, or 3.8L. They're "3100 SFI", "3400", and "3800 Series II". Or even worse when they actually put stuff like "3.1L MULTIPORT" on the EXTERIOR of the car! I guess people in the know would figure out what kind of power you were making based on the numbers stamped on the intake plenum. The thing is, everyone knows the S197 GT makes 300hp, so what's the point?
